Why use NewView? Saitek's SST software allows you to assign mouse emulation to any hatswitch...

...if you have a reason for using newview instaed of Saitek's software, I'm sorry but I can't help. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

NewView & Joy2Mouse have better fine-tuning features than SST & are smoother.

There's a guide at Airwarfare (http://www.airwarfare.com/Sims/FB/fb_newview.htm).

I also use a X45, and oddly enough Newview seems to only recognize POV Hat 1.

I have been using Newview for about a year with ordinar joystik before I bougt X45 and are verry satisfied with it.
You can have fixed viewpoints at spesific instruments, fine tuning view steps, sjeck 6 with a key and go directly back where you looked before etc.
My problem was that I want it on Pov hat 2 because I am using Pov Hat 1 for other reasons.
Pov Hat 1 is easier to reach with my tumb
and I need it when lining up in a dogfigt

Hmm, looking at the Saitek Profiler only POV hat 1 can be set up as an actual POV hat.....(does that make sense?)

POV hat 2 and 3 can only be set up as 'Mouse' or 'Buttons'.

JoyToKey does not recognize POV hats 2 and 3 on the X45 either.

IIRC there is an alternative piece of profiling software for Saitek sticks. I wonder if it is somehow possible to use that to report POV hat 1 as POV hat 2 etc....the name of it escapes me atm.....Tully? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Dhauzimmer's... ask at SimHQ Saitek Hardware forum for links, I've lost mine and am at work at the moment anyway.
