You are correct - an AVG thread.

You know what might be cool - lets say your a transport pilot - you fly C-46 commando.. the Double Bubble.. you have to fly over the hump 3-4 times a week, in all weather, day and night.. what was it a 9 hour flight?.. you have to survive tubulence.. mech.failures.. enemy planes..and volatile cargo like av gas and ammunition for Chennaults fliers. And your points are based on survival only.. in other words - you have to start all over from the beginning if you are killed during the campaign - even if it is your last mission. sound like fun ? I know a guy that did it - real life - he went on to fly airforce one for LBJ in 63 - he is still living.. still drinking and still smoking.. party on.

The CBI is like the Mediterranean theater of the Pacific...no sim seems to do it justice!

There were so many kinds of aircraft that flew there and a great mix of ground attack and fighters...from early war defense of Rangoon in Buffaloes and Warhawks to late war interdiction in Mustangs and Spitfires....

Plus one of the most forgotten aircraft of the war ... the P-51A Mustang was used extensively in this theater.

Lots of bridge busting missions, inderdict japs on the Burma Road, airfield attacks and bomber intercepts....try escorting C-47's as the parachute supplies to the Chindits and Merrils marauders!

I would love to see a beautifully rendered rice patty with those huts as I fly my P-40 or P-51A on missions deep into enemy territory.

Don't let the CBI be a "forgotten battle"
