Are all of the map squares in the sim 10k x 10k including the historical or ficticious maps.... regardless to size? Or are the square dimensions different on some of the larger maps. I think they are but I want to be sure.. I am working on a little project.

I'm almost certain they are 10 x 10 km. Done quite a few navigation practice maps using 10 x 10 km without any problems (i.e. nav errors http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif)

You can test it by placing test objects using the FMB on a map in question and afterwards read the raw .mis file using Notepad. The objects will be defined with X,Y coordinates with 0,0 in the lower lefthand corner.

Example:
[NStationary]
0_Static vehicles.planes.Plane$TEMPEST5 1 7570.69 2633.07 265.00 0.0 gb

This a static Tempest at X=7.57069 km and Y= 2.63307 km, pointing heading 265.00 degrees at 0.0 meters altitude ... British license plates BTW.

Note you can place objects with a precision of 1 cm (!)

Hope this helps...

Except for the ones that are 100x100, 1x1 or 0.1x0.1.
