Its now quite large and very comprehensive, thus the large download size. I believe Aces (the builder) spent untold hundreds of hours trying to help people (mostly boneheads such as myself) get it working on their machines, and has since tried to simplify the process by keeping it all together, and not bothering with small 'patches' (good lesson for Oleg? Lets hope not). Version 1.6 with realistic random wingmen numbering is around 20MB.

Hi guys,

The program and associated files has grown somewhat since it was first released. As I add new features eg. more MAT and TGA files then the file count increases and thus the download size.

I have done my best to reduce this to a minimum with the zip compression otherwise it would be at least 30-40% bigger. I was repeatedly asked to produce full installer stand alone versions as opposed to smaller updates. I have decided that, owing to a mixture of limited space on my ISP account (almost at it's limit and can't afford to keep paying for bandwidth excesses on my other server), public demand and, probably most importantly the need to keep all the files together, that I'd adopt this "unified" approach.

Every new version recently has included a substantial number of new MAT and TGA files and some enforced and neccessary re-organisation of the directory structure so it's the only way that I have of trying to ensure that everyone has the correct files in the correct locations.

Thanks for keeping the faith.

Best Regards

I've got to hand it to you Aces, this program is great. I love the different options for everything, and the weathered insignias are so great...
I accidently loaded it up with the standard bright akward looking markings, and i quickly closed and reopened, your programs awesome...
hmm...1.7 with Random Numbers...

With a connection speed of only 26.4Kbps and a d/l speed never exceding(sp?) 3.0kbps, it does take a while, not to mention when Im browsing forums or my squads site the d/l speed drops.

edit: Wanted to add, Ace does using WinRAR have any effect on making the files smaller? I know WinRAR can compress better(files, text) but I dont know how it will compress regarding applications.
