There are many excellent war films that are unknown to this day.

May I suggest the following...

Saving Private Parts. A worthy film that depicts the exploits of Field Surgeons saving soldiers private parts within the confines of a field hospital.Harrowing depictions of the effects of 0.50 bullets on Tiger Tanks.

Fairly Noisy On the Western Front. A little known sequal to 'All Quiet on the Western Front'. Sound problems beset release but is now a collectors item.

Band of Uncles. A mini-series that foundered due the insistance of the director on comfy seats for the actors and the provision of constant day-time television.

Bottle of Britain. Directed by a well known English beer brewer and accurately recounted the wartime difficulties of supplying RAF Spitfire and Hurricane pilots with beer.

Das Boot. The often ignored and thankless tasks performed by German shoe makers during constant Allied bombing is vividly brought to life in this raw masterpiece.

'How I Lost The War' - A biting satire starring John Lennon and Micheal Crawford as Hitler and Goring....the scene where Hitler shoots himself, looks into camera and says "You knew that was going to happen, didn't you?" has lost none of it's power over the passing of time.

'The Red Max' - a rugby-loving Welsh comic folk-singer escapes the trenches to become a working-class hero as he uses any means necessary to become WWI's top scoring ace.

T-Day: The invasion is postponed to give the British soldiers another 'T'-time.

Codename: Longbow: The German scientists work on a secret weapon: A metal copy of the English Longbow. With this cruel weapon the Germans were able to shot arrows from Germany to the US-eastcoast.

NewYork Belle: The not so well known bomber in WW2, that obliberated the strategically important chicken-farm north-west of Emden.

Big Fat 1: The almost forgotten soldier, who accidentially slipped, rolled downhill and crushed 4 TigerTanks under his weight.

The strands of Ibizza: A tough bunch of US-Marines tries to fight their way through the hundrets of tourists lying on the sunny beach. They take heavy losses from the angry women, who got sand on their oily skins and on their blankets.
