I'm getting kind of bored with FPS games, so I picked this up as an impulse buy. It's very frustrating, thinking of selling it after only having played a few times. I can't seem to move around very well...how do I enter free run? I can't keep with the guy I'm supposed to follow in section 1.

I always find it odd when people give up on games before they've even learned how to play them properly, hopefully you won't do that because this is a very unique game and you'll miss out on a lot.

If you play it on PC you can find the manual for the game in the game box or in /C:Program Files/Ubisoft/Assassin's Creed II/Support/Manual

To start free-running you have to do 3 things at once, hold forward(W), High profile(Right Mouse Button(RMB)) and Legs(space).

Just press and hold those buttons and you should start to freerun, it might help if you tell us what platform you play on... mainly because I don't know the PS3 or 360 controls lol

If you play on another platform either work it out or wait for someone else to tell you http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Seriously, dude. Learn the basics first before you chalk this up. It's a great game, and I don't think you should give up on it when you haven't even learned how to free-run. I'm not trying to be insulting. I'm trying to be encouraging. Seriously. Great Game. Don't. Turn. In.

cant figure out how to run? perhaps you should stick to rock-paper-scissors..... at least that game doesn't require literacy.

(With the exception of Robson(numbers), his was still constructive)

I assume you're talking about Assassin's Creed 2, in which case I understand your confusion considering that the game doesn't have what passes as a tutorial. I recommend that you follow one of these suggestions.
1)Read your game manual (as Robson said)
2)Play AC1 if you haven't already done so. It has a tutorial and generally less complex environments to practice in.
3)Look up the AC1 tutorial on youtube. (Respective to your platform, of course.)
