You have to go through JustFlight.com, I think. I don't know if anybody else carries it.

Use this link to go directly to their BOE page:

Okay, the underlined part of the link will take you to the JustFlight home page. BOE is in Terminal 02/ Flight Sim Add Ons ... or, you can copy and paste the whole link I posted into your browser.

second question ...

Is it worth getting and will it work with DCG?

"Worth getting" is relative.

First you have to understand what BOE is, and the history behind it. As you know, "Forgotten Battles" and its expansion "Ace Expansion Pack" and now "Pacific Fighters" come with a dynamic campaign generator called DGen created by a programmer named Starshoy. A competing program, DCG (Dynamic Campaign Generator) is a free, alternative generator created by Paul Lowengrin and it is a free download from Lowengrin's site. Some people feel that DCG is superior to DGen, BTW.

Anyway, if you are playing "Forgotten Battles v1.22" or "Ace Expansion Pack" you've probably noticed that there are no DGen campaigns for the Normandy and Ardennes maps; in other words, by default you can't select a US, RAF or German campaign for these maps. There is a reason for this: Starshoy and a couple of other third-party developers who had established a good relationship with 1C:MG entered into a partnership to create a quasi-official add-on. That add-on is "Battle Over Europe."

Originally the Normandy and Ardennes maps (and some ground objects) were built exclusively for BOE, but then it became apparent that the only way the maps could be introduced into Forgotten Battles was if 1C:MG to delivered them in a free patch for FB. This devalued BOE as a product, unfortunately, so for a long time the FB community actively pushed for loyal players to buy BOE despite not getting any new maps or planes by purchasing it.

What you'll get from BOE are the 'missing' DGen campaigns for the Western European maps so you can use planes like the P-38, P-47, P-51, Spitfire, etc. on those maps, plus you'll get a small library of skins for these aircraft. I think BOE also comes with the medals packs you need for the US and RAF awards.

I know most people have been satisfied with their purchase of BOE, so I suppose it is a very good product. I personally think the price is a bit high for what BOE offers and therefore I haven't purchased it. If the price were to ever come down I would probably get BOE to 'complete' my IL-2 setup.

My last note is that DCG generates campaigns for the Normandy and Ardennes maps if you are willing to fiddle with it. Also, if you don't have PF 'merged' to FB+AEP yet, there are some user-made speech and medals packs that are available for download that will work in DCG.

Oh, and to clarify: If you only have Pacific Fighters (not FB/AEP) then BOE won't work for you.

Welcome to the community Mosin91.

Here is a thread with screenshots and lots of info on BoE. Please read!

At the Just flight site look under 'Flight sim add ons'. Don't worry about odrdering from them, they are very safe, and you get a good discount on every subsequent purchase! They even send abroad without a problem.

By the way: The action isn't limited to the Normandy map. You also get to fly campaigns in Hungary, in the Ardennes, and Berlin.

You have to download a patch maybe in order to fly some of the RAF spifire campaigns (I'm unsure of this, check in the above thread).

Thanks for the link. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Next time I will search the forum before I beat a dead horse. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

FYI - I got FB+AEP+PF with DCG installed. Absolutely LOVE it. It has been a long time since I have seen a flight sim up on par with the ancient Aces games from Dynamix (Aces over the Pacific & Aces over Europe).

Thank You!!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
