Well, a good joystick and rudder set up sure makes a difference! (the 9800xt didn't hurt either)I just got a CH figherstick and rudder control but I can't seem to get them working correctly in PFAEP. They work right away in MSFS 2004, but those silly planes don't even crash! I need my smoke and fire!

In PFAEP, the rudders work, but the joystick does nothing. Strangely, the joystick buttons respond to button assignments in 'input setup' but when the game launches I have only rudders. Although I'm pretty sure no one will ever shoot me in the resulting spins, I would like my joystick to work. No doubt a simple problem, anybody know the fix?

Thanks
PS; the asus 9800xt changed the whole experience to ARt, and my system runs x2+ now. (replaced ati 8500 with asus 9800xt)Thanks for all the good work on the visuals.

Welcome to the forum, shadowtooth,

Regarding your CH kit - I have the same items - your best course is to install the Control Manager software and create a map specifically for this sim. The CM enables you to combine your stick & pedals into a "single, virtual device", thus getting past the problem you're having.
The CM also allows you to use the mode switch and several other functions. http://www.ch-hangar.com/forum/ is the place to go for expert advice on all aspects of using this kit.

Cheers,
