Looks like a JPG of an American Stirling to me, but the photo info says russian.

Pure conjecture on my part would say it's on loan to USAAC for evaluation purposes only. because to me that looks like American markings.

changed my mind, its clearly a white outline, with red internal star, like early russian stars

IMO it is early american marking.

That was my first reaction as well (that it was an early US insignia).

Never heard of any Stirlings being evaluated in the US though, and since thay already had the B-17, I can't think of a reason they'd want to.
