I found this card on TigerDirect for $300 , and was wondering if any of you have it or a card very similar . Will this card run smoothly in perfect mode for PF ? any issues ? what about drivers ? ..just wanted some feedback on Nvidia before I make the purchase . I'm ditching my Radeon 9800 , tired of the stutters playing PF and CoD .

I think it may also depend on your CPU. What kind is it?

If you're getting bad stutters on a Radeon 9800 you might not get what you're looking for from a newer video card. My Radeon 9600 doesn't stutter (at least no more than others on WC) very bad as long as I don't turn the detail up too high. If you are limited to upgrading a single component, I'd evaluate the rest of my system, especially RAM, before making a purchase. Also keep in mind that PCI Express is for all intents and purposes, the standard now. If you upgrade now with an AGP card you won't be able to use that card when you get a new system. That's why I'm holding back on a new card until I can convince myself it's time to go for a whole new rig.

the 7800 will run this game in perfect mode w/ very nice frames. You'll need to tweak it a little (as w/ any card), but the GS is the best AGP card.

You may also want to look @ the ATI X850 AGP, it can be had for around $100 less than the 7800. It's not as good as the Nvidia card, but will still run this game bawls and blow the 9800 out of the water.

In any case, I would recommend Newegg, zip zoom fly, Magnum PC, over TigerDirect. I've heard bad things about tiger.

I dealt with Tiger Direct years ago, no problems, but I found their prices were significantly higher than NewEgg.

With all that I'm till using any but Perfect Mode when playing a serious campaign:
Any DCG campaign with 15 to 20 squadrons, full columns density, high ground static object density.
Definetely Il2PF is running over an obsolet graphic engine, and further add-on could only worsen the present performance.!!!!!

Perfect mode is only for demostrative purpose, when only few planes are airborne !!!!
