As long as there would be some decent ground support roles I'm down fer it. Lemme hear sum grounder pounders hollerin at me fer some support or a nicely laid down bomb run to help me jar head breathren!!!

Dedicated ground support missions/campaigns!!!

I noticed that the mid war period in general is severely lacking in campaigns. If you go army you do Pearl Harbour, New Guinea (1942) and then jump to 1945 Japan. The USN, IJA and IJN fighter campaigns are the only ones I've noticed that don't have a huge gap of 2 years in the middle.

Because once the US is on the offensive (after the japanese pull out of Guadalcanal) there are no possible campaign missions without airstart, and airfinish. that and all the targets would have to be stand-ins.

F4Us flew offensive sweeps and escort missions up the slot. IJN bombing rapidly became untenable, so not may defensive missions, even. PF requires even bigger maps, honestly. Probably 4 times the current maps.

Those are current map sizes, and would still largely require airstart/airfinish. A 4x map would cover Guadalcanal up to Bouganville. That would help, and would actually only have islands on 2 maps, the rest is open water.

A second 4x map would be from Bouganville to New britain and New Ireland with 1 map of 100% open water (NE quad). You could do a Bouganville--New Britain map with just 2 PF maps side by side if you rotated the islands slightly (N-S would be screwed up compared to RL, but they would fit).

You could get Northern NG all the way to Rabaul in another 4x map, even including Lae and Buna.

I now see your point...what's bummer! long leg trip...I think Oleg/Statshay already knew about difficult to model that most famous campaign/maps. Thank you for answer it. I hope that one will be add to PF FAQ.

Just bumping; plus, we do miss playing F4U in early stage, I guess I have to edit add F4U to other Dgen campaign.

Nice work, Tater!

VMF-124 would have to be included in that. They got to 'Canal in Feb.'43 and were the first squadron, USMC or USN to deploy with Corsairs.

Just edit the dgen files to include it. I always put the planes "I" want in the dgen campaigns. Thanks Oleg for that option.
