Tells about tactics in lining up and shooting down RAF bombers.
There's also a reenactment where he guides an A-26 (simulating a Ju 88) into firing-position below a Lancaster.

Very much worth watching!

Obviously taken out of this documentary:

Couldn't find the first part, though...

Interesting. It's the A-26 Invaider, by the way, not Intruder. That was the A-6 of Vietnam era. A-26's were redesignated B-26's after the war, which caused confusion during the planning of the Bay of Pigs invasion due to wartime B-26 Marauder crews.

(Why am I preaching to the choir?)

The documentary is very interesting and worth the time, watching it - there are 3 of 15 parts missing, though.

The technological battle behind the scenes was almost as epic as the ones fought at the front.

It only shows how technologically equal all sides of the war have been, and how different approaches to similar problems lead to an interesting array of machinery.

I have his autobiography Enemy in the Dark. After WW2 he became a Lufthansa Captain.

He wrote the book to explin to his grand-children what his life had been like as a night fighter pilot. He's very modest and has written a very readable and informative book.

The Luftwaffe developed very effective blind-landing systems for their night fighters and were probably the most advanced at the time.

He mentions as to how effective the rear gunners on the RAF bombers could at times be.

Is this what you were missing?

By the way, does anyone know why Hitler banned the RAF freq. aircraft RADAR? It resulted in the massive antenna on German planes, whereas the RAF aircraft had tiny antenna or none at all, all fitted in the nose.

It says in the doc that the German scientists were well aware of the benefits of the british system but Hitler forbade work on it? It does not say why...
