hi!

I are trying let a bite more taste of realism in IL2.

for example, this was my last buy, altough didn't receive it yet:

http://img34.imageshack.us/img34/7269/77777777777777777777777.jpg

a accurated modern Japanese fligth googles for winter and low temperature situations (though I was wanting a conventional one) like high altitude fligths.

I found it at E-bay from the following user:

http://myworld.ebay.com/hamchan/

his itens for sale:

http://shop.ebay.com/hamchan/m...armrs=1&_from=&_ipg= (http://shop.ebay.com/hamchan/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=)

now, I'm searching for also Japanese fligth helmets and a oxygen masks as well as allied and German ones. didn't find anything in his list of products. please, if someone know, where I can find this stuff, with totally sure is very limited and rare, but already are and would be very glad. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

and you folks, use things like that to try improve the simulation?

ah, maybe it's exageration from my part, but I really would like to whear the googles flying to see how looks like. as think I not gonna be allowed to use them in fligths in the civilian aviation school to see how make a real fly with it because probably the instructors gonna think I'm crazy, even as a co pilot because I'm a nugget, but I wish that also.

ok, I drink a little before create this topic, but the intentions where the best ones, sorry for this insane momment folks. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

ah, no... lol

already hear that some models of oxygen masks, the Soviet ones I have sure, where generally deslike by the pilot's due to be disconfortable. those things to try give me just a bite taste of how was for the real guys make's me somewat happy, belive folks. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

PS: but ok, I know that is "just a game".

I've buy the googles, gonna try one time to see how looks like.

I act with too much extremism, sorry. just would like to see how whear the googles and fly looks like, sorry, didn't want create any trouble and be so radical, so again, sorry folks. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/sadeyes.gif

thinking in other way, like play a race game with a helmet, sounds a big exageration for me, but personally just test the googles seems to be not so much.

ok again, I'm not saying that this should be done and fly with googles will not mean by ANY FORM that I'm better then anyone, this was NOT my intention, just would like to say that I've buy the googles and gonna try test them flying in IL2 to see looks like.

PS: I've really take some beers, now are trying to fix it with argumentation wat I've saied, so please, don't take in consideration my first post.

Mate, no-one thought you are trying to be better than anyone else. Please stop being so hard on yourself.

Wearing the goggles is probably a step too far for most, but if you enjoy it then at the end of the day thats all that really matters.

thank you very much for your reply mister b2spirita!

ah, I'm not being hard with myself, in fact it's wat most people can thougth, something like: "oh, great that guy must think, but just THINK that he is a real WWII pilot whearing the googles in a PC fligth sim".

but think you very much for say that also buddy.

I didn't drink, was lying, just had thougth that if we have a normal trottle, quadrant trottle for bomber aircraft, ignition key, more longer stick like a real one, try whearing a fligth google and if that sounds good may be on this way of try let the simulation with a good taste of reality.

but such things have a limit and I know that, didn't want a hydraulic seat or anything, and even if whear the googles be desconfortable, I will not whear them, this is a sim for fun, and the real pilot's have to face far worst things we can't have like the G force.

the intentions where the best ones, but I've really exagereted now.

Suggestions ----

1) Purchase a large fan and arrange for it to blow in your face when flying open cockpit aircraft.

2) Purchase a water pistol and have a friend/spouse spray it into the fan when it is raining in game.

3) At first sign of fire have friend/spouse blow cigarette smoke in your face.

4) If fire continues have friend/spouse set fire to your trousrs.

5) In the event of a hard landing have friend/spouse hit you with a large bat across the side of the head.

6) setup PC next to pool and in event of a failed carrier landing have friend/spouse tip you in.

I have a 1939 German flying helmet with throat mike in the cupboard but I couldn't wear it for IL-2.

As it is the TIR cap and headphones make my girlfriend go http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

Those goggles look like fun though if you had some matching handcuffs http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

thank you very much for all your replies folks!

many of you are probably thinking I'm crazy with this idea. ok, in fact I've saied: "and you folks, use things like that to try improve the simulation?". but didn't imaginate it was something so exagerated for most of the people here. now I know that my idea was something really very, very much exagerated.

gonna put a end in my participation on this tread. even would ask to the moderators if possible please, to lock it, as there's nothing useful for the community on it.

please forgive me for had create it folks, gonna think far more before create a topic now. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Don't take it to heart Wildnoob, people are just being lighthearted with their comments.

There are some that like the game so much they build cockpits in their living rooms.

I'm not sure how much feeling of reality you would experience playing the game in goggles, from my experience on motorcycles the main drawback would be lack of peripheral (looking out the corner of your eye) vision which isn't really needed when looking at a computer monitor.

Don't take offense its only a game ... play it however you want http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

However the most realistic experience you will ever get is when you eventually find the time/money to learn to actually fly http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Play inside a box or small room with air conditioner set to freeze, simulate many planes and conditions that way.
Only wear a coat and gloves if you can get -20 C or colder, esp if you are P-38 pilot in Europe winter or playing
anyone in Russian or Finnish winter!

Use a leafblower pointed at your face to simulate the noise and wind of open-cockpit flying
