This is an 82% scale replica powered by a 300 hp Jacobs radial. Has yet to be flown but should be flying by this years....wait, IN TWO WEEKS http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

I don't understand. Why not make it full sized?

The Goshawk could have been full size but it started out as as scaled P-6E Hawk with a horizontal engine. The problem with full size is the cost as well as a siutable engine with 600hp.

The scaled P-6E is powered by a 383 Stroker of 253 hp at 3,000 rpm. NOt quite 82 % scale on the hp but it flies along nicely at 150mph. Total cost if you build it yourself is about $25,000. Ralph Rosanic built a full scale replica over 30 some odd years at a cost of well over a million. I can only afford the scaled http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Beautiful. Thanks.

Biplanes like this should be very much OT (On Topic) for a good flight sim.

Hey Lexx....
Curtiss' later Navy models did see WWII combat vs IJA in China, with the Chineese army. But you probably already knew that...see below:

Twenty five thousand? Well, that answers my question quite nicely!

Thanks VFS, yes the Chinese had Hawks. 1930s China and Spain together would make great international flight sim, covering all the major combat aircraft building nations.

Thanks for sharing Hawk, im a huge fan of Curtiss planes http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif And like LEXX, my hope springs eternal for a 1930s combat sim, be it in China or Spain http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
