With all this stuff about dumbed down FMs and stuff going on on various forums I have a question for ya.... Anybody tried the P-39 lately? Try the FB ones (Q 10 etc...) so you can see the difference in the FMs. I dunno.... maybe its just me but it sure seems a heckuva lot closer.. not quite but closer to the p-39 in IL2 than prviously. Anybody remember that "Im gonna stall on you and kill ya" shudder that used to come up if you pulled back on the stick with any kind of force.... well its back.. and you better pay attention too or else its curtains for you see.... I have been having so much fun with the Corsair and Carrier Ops that I just got around to trying some of my old favories to compare them across the sims..... this P-39 is more like the old murder bird of IL2 than the toned down one from FB. Man this sim juist gets better.... its almost like back to the future. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
I am itching to see what is coming in this patch. How many other products have you bought that not only kept you on the seat of your pants before you got it but after you got it too? Gotta love it.....

It's just Boris, Natashia and Fearless Leader messin' with the American planes again! Why does this not surprise me?!

Personally I like the more challenging FM.. it seems to be more intune with a lot of what I red about the P-39 from pilots who flew them. You have to relly watch yourself... especially if you are in the cockpit.

Everyone says the USN planes are too easy...well, I invite folks to try the "USN" missions flying P-40Bs at Pearl Harbor (somehow, these single missions got put under the USN heading).

The USAAC planes are quite a challenge in my opinion

i preferred the challenge of the old FM so this is good news (i am not going to even get into the "realism" debate .. just saying more challenging is more fun)

perhaps people have realised that dumbing down the FM to CFS3 "fly on rails" standards to get a bigger market was not the pathway to insant sucess it might first appear.

I tried the P-39 first thing. It was really my favorite back in Il2 becasue of its difficulty in relation to many of the other VVS planes. Later I switched sides but that's a whole nother matter. The P-39 does seem more challenging than in 2.04. It seems like a compromise between the two FM.
