For any of you Brits old enough to remember the cold war, or the Falklands, or indeed going to airshows as a young whippersnapper and being knocked on your back by the noise of four Olympus engines at full chat, the Vulcan to the Sky project is at a critical phase.

They've made the BBC News (http://news.bbc.co.uk/nolavconsole/ukfs_news/hi/newsid_5270000/newsid_5277200/nb_wm_5277200.stm) today (breakfast and the news at one, hopefully also the evening bulletins) as they're still in need of a bit of cash to continue with the flight programme after the roll-out on August 31st.

I can't imagine if this venture was in other countries who take more active pride in their heritage we'd be in this situation, but that's by the by http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

Anyways, if you have a spare tenner burning a hole in your pocket and would like to see the grand old dame performing at the Falklands flypast next year, you might wish to think about pledging some money (corporate sponsorship also welcome) on the Vulcan to the Sky club (http://www.vulcantotheskyclub.com/) site, or paying for a hanger visit on Sunday.

They're not asking for money now, only pledges (if the total required is raised in pledges then they ask you to cough up)

Don't think this breaks any rules Mods, but feel free to remove if so. Just thought some on here might be interested (I've nothing directly to do with VttS myself but am sure my love of aircraft has something to do with aforementioned expose to Vulcans in my youth)
