Hi all, just got one of these from the Chester branch and its fantastic. 1680 x 1050 res and 5 ms response, the quality far outweighs the price. IL2 looks brilliant, maybe i'll be able to see the bandits now lol.

If you're thinking of going widescreen then get the 22" for the same price as some 19" models. Hope someone finds this useful

Hi Pablo,
if I may ask...

What refresh rate can it do at 1680 x 1050, can it manage 75hz at that res?

Cheers - Inadaze

Refresh rates do not apply to lcd displays
response times and contrast is more relevent
which at 5ms is more than adequate

Ya, but when you use vertical sync you are still limited to the max that the display can use, I've a 19 inch tft at the mo that can handle 75hz for vertical sync. So the max frames I get in IL2 are 75 when I use it. I want to go widescreen but don't want to be limited to an equivalent of 60hz for playing games at max res.

Still not conviced of the need of a refresh rate on a screen that does'nt refresh however, saying that I have checked and i run my acer 19" at 75hz

Apparently Samsung are going to up their base refresh rates on moniters to 120hz and JVC to 180hz so you might want to check them out if it is a major concern

cheers

the refresh rates on the packaging say 55-77hz. I've been testing it on IL2 and i'm more than happy at max resolution. Seems a lot easier to see the dots now.

I had a look at the specs and max is 60hz

But the sync rate is VxH 77hz x 84hz http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

I think i may buy one as the last price was 169

There's not much info on the Staples site, is it one of these (http://www.custompc.co.uk/reviews/107453/belinea-22-w-artistline.html) ? The photo of them looks the same anyway...

Yes that looks the same. The model is 2225 S1W, do a google search there is lots of info.

Here are some of the customer reviews that made up my mind.
