Not a fighter. But my wife took it here in Vancouver a few years ago. I have it enlarged in our entrance way.

It would be interesting to have more info on that pic. I found it at a site somewhere and loved it.

I often wonder what that guy was thinking or if he was preparing to "whiz" on the tire. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif

Colour fotos of MiG~3 wreck taken by German troops.

Note the summer rain shower about 10k beyond the field,
and sunlit cumulus clouds next to the summer rainshower.

Same MiG, different angle, again showing dark
clouds in the background. German is standing in
sunlight however. Also note sun shadows on MiG.

I'm not sure if it is, but I always picture it as Hartmann looking over his mount and contemplating his next sortie. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Maybe, he's looking for more room to put his kill marks. That tail must be awfully crowded. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

FI WILLIE that is probably the best sig picture on the boards ..... it really makes you think about the human side of war. I wonder if it was a staged propaganda photo or just spur of the moment?

Hey Dubbo, great photo (I wish the Wife would let me hang stuff around the house) but that did you notice the that's not a TRUE 111? It has the high mounted exhoust of the later Spanish built CASA 2111, those guys built them until 1956. If you watch the movie "Battle of Britain" you'll see tons of them. All the best, LongHorn

Indeed Longhorn, good eye. She was used in BoB and Piece of cake. This is the same CAF CASA 2111 that went down last year with both crew. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-sad.gif
