View Full Version : Does anyone else find Desmond's plotline to be more intriguing than that of Ezio?

Because I know I sure do. I feel it has much more tense to it compared to the Animus plotline. Perhaps the cause of this is that we know for certain that Altair has long seized to exist. We know that much about Ezio as well. But as far as Desmond's story goes, we are kept in the dark. How is he planning to escape Abstergo? Is Lucy really on his side? The same issue can be brought up in Vidic's regard... You get the idea. I even had a dream a few weeks ago, in which I boot up the game and finally found out what happnes in the beggining of AC2, thus ending my two year long anticipation for that moment. What a sweet dream that was... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif Does anyone else feel the same?

PS- Would someone be kind enough as to teach me how to use the IMG tags? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I found the Animus storyline awesome to begin with, since I'm a big Sci-fi buff. As of AC2, it looks far better and far more intriguing.

I can't wait.

I find my preference for the plotline amongs all three assassins (Desmond being one) to be evenly distributed because they all focus on diffrent aspects and styles, but yet they still have to do a lot with each other. IMO I'll first have to play AC 2 and see more of Desmond's plotline.

During AC1 I found myself looking forward to the Desmond plot sections between memory blocks. I always wanted more email and clues to pick up and more conversations with Lucy and Vidic. (Not complaining about the game play, I really enjoy it. Repetitive awesomeness is still awesome.)

I think that any one plot would be pretty thin, both stories together really works for me though. Ezio's plot seems like it may stack up better against Desmond's, than Altair's did. It definitely has the potential to over shadow Desmond, since its really spanning a good portion of Ezio's life.

Im actually disappointed you have to play the game over again just to hear the banter with Viddic and Lucy.

Only reason I really played the entire game over like 5 times and counting.

Well, in the first game both stories were both very... I dunno, lacking in content, I s'pose. See, Altair had no back story, yet there weren't any twists in the Desmond storyline. Yet, overall, the Desmond plot intrigues me more, if only through possibilities. I was just desperate for Des to learn how to free run... he didn't, of course.

But who knows...

Well, I've read 360Zine.

I couldn't give one thing that doesn't fascinate about AC. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what relic will surface in AC2.

I was really playing for Desmond later in the game I wanted to know HIS story more than Altair's and now I want to know HIS story more than Ezio's...

Some of the questions you asked regarding the story are found in a thread here. Something about AC2's story structure. [Edit: Ooops, spoiled the story itself there!]Check that thread I told you about if you don't mind being a bit spoiled http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I like the animus in between sections were pretty cool, but if the game was all just in the past, i think i'd still have a blast

Im gonna quote Palpatine from star wars here: "If one is to understand the great mystery, one must study all its aspects...". Desmond is an integral piece of the puzzle....

Without a doubt I think Desmond's story is far better simply to do the fact that it is really going to decide what happens with the third AC game. Plus he is able to free-<STRIKE>walk</STRIKE> run now which is always welcome. Hopefully it doesn't stop there though, and hopefully his story gets fleshed out like Ezio's seems to be.

I DEFINITELY do! I mean, I do love exploring and running around old places but I find the modern day plot line soooo much more interesting! I remember when I first got the game everyone was like "ZOMG ALTAIR!" and I was like ".....Desmond FTW".

I find Ezio's story meh, a revenge story yay. I guess I'll wait and see how it's executed before judging. I'm just happy I can run around in Italy, haven't done that since Tomb Raider V http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

im looking forward to seeing what happens to ezio over desmond but i preferred desmond to altair in AC1 ,but that may be due to the fact that altair is a ******bag by the way how do you make a signature

Well the reason could be that Desmond is basically of the Assassin's Creed SERIES, while each Assassin is a sub-plot in each separate game. Hopefully the 3 games will have links other that Desmond and Templars.

...well...I find Ezio's more interesting atm, because I've not heard much, if anything, about Desmond. What I have heard doesn't inspire much confidence, though...

We'll be seeing less of Desmond in this game than we did in AC1.
