First off, I have searched for this question in the forums and not found it. Will there be any provision in BoB for flying a 4-engine bomber? I've wanted to, but have been slightly disappointed that the only 4-engine flyable bomber has been the TB-3. I'd love to fly a B-24 or Lancaster in a game, but haven't been able to yet.

Also, will BoB be limited to the Battle of Britain, or will there be missions throughout the war in that one?

Cant give you a definitive answer on the heavy bomber situation, but (and i'm assuming here) there will be a provision for it in the BoB code (just as there is in FB/PF). But dont expect any 4 engine bombers in BoB, i think the nearest we'll get initially is the HE-111, JU-88 (and there could be a Blenheim), but Heavies are doubtful.

As to the second question, BoB will apparently only have the plane set of that era, so i doubt there will be any later war missions. However, its very, very likely that Oleg and co will bring out expansion packs for the BoB engine. I think the first may be for the med war.

BoB will be just a starting point, but I think there will be a long while before a 4-engined bomber becomes flyable. None are really viable until we reach the year 1942/43 and can accurately simulate the strategic air war over Western Europe.

If you're prepared to fly medium bombers for the time being, my 'Disaster On The Frontiers' DGen campaigns at Airwarfare (http://www.airwarfare.com/Sims/FB/fb_campaigns_dof.htm) include the Soviet B-25J from '44 on. The 'extra_bombers' files allow the player to fly in a twelve-plane formation, though not all systems will accept this.

There are shots of a Wellington model (2 engines, I know) amongst the BoB work in progress pictures.
Who knows where that might lead?

There was word that the Blenhiem was going to be attempted if enough resources could be found. I think thats exciting...although its sort of lackluster as a bomber...it was used almost everywhere.

There was talk long ago of what could be done with the Lancaster and Halifax bombers in future products. I think there's some good possibilities for the future and featuring a heavy bomber.

I think that would define this series is that finally you may, given the right level of time, resources, money, and interest...have a sim that will give you fighter and nightfighter ops alongside bomber ops. The interaction between the two would be fantastic to see.

There was a guy who was modelling a Lanc for FB, but Oleg told him to model it for BoB. It wont come with BoB on release, but there will be expansions, and hopefully the Lanc will make it into one of them. It would make sense, as it would seem that the map system for BoB will be such to allow for realistic strategic missions. But we will have to wait and see.

Man, I hate waiting for games to come out. It's like that Tom Petty song, "The Waaaaaiting is the hardest part."
