Hi guys!

As a real life student pilot I am looking for a Saab Safir, a millitary trainer that i am flying for real, for pacific fighters. Until now I haven't found anything. Are there any one out there interested in helping me making one? I can supply pictures and performance data, but my knowledge on making adons to flightsims are close to zero.

Anyone?

Are you talking about a Safir Type 91 (http://www.fcfk.com/safir/)?

I don't mean to dash your hopes but if this is the vessel you mean it probably wouldn't stand much chance of making it into the sim even if you did build a model for it, the primary reason being that the prototype for the series appeared at the end of 1945 after the war had ended. I see it was used by various air forces starting in the mid-1940s, but was it ever armed?

As you may or may not know, all of the game's content (planes, objects, maps) have to coded into the sim by the developer, usually through upgrade patches or the official expansion pack. In other words, people can't make their own planes and independantly put them into the game. Many WWII warbirds have been built by enthusiasts in hopes of being accepted by the developer but relatively few have actually made the cut and put in the game.

I suggest you look into Microsoft's Flight Simulator series. That sim enjoys a huge community because FS is 'open source' coding and will easily accept mods like home-built aircraft models. I wouldn't be surprised if there were already several versions of your Safir available for download at community sites like FlightSim.com.

Look what I found for FS2004 (http://www.fsdownload.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&lid=157&title=FS2004+Textures+for+F/A-18+Super+Hornet)!
Another link (http://www.fsimzone.com/new/download-search-.html) -- same model?
Another site with same model (http://www.fsdome.com/library/aircraft/64.htm).
Once more, at bottom of page (http://www.flightsim.com/cgi/kds?$=main/airmap/fs02/swiss.htm).

I'll install it and run some screenshots if you'd like.

Also, here's a version for Flight Simulator 98 (http://www.simviation.com/fs98props14.htm).
Here's a Safir instrument panel for FS 2000 (http://www.simviation.com/fs2000panels17.htm).

Nope, it was never armed, and it flew in the norwegian airforce until 1982.

I know that there is a model for fs2004, but the flight dynamics in fs2004 are ****, therefor, I was hoping that it was possible to make a modell to PF, which has extremly much more realistic flight dynamics! If you try to deep stall a plane fs2004 and in PF, you will notice the difference...
