Did most luftie pilots actually manually futz around with prop pitch in the FW190?

Don't know. But I'm off to strip the reduction gears off of Kurt tank's baby

manual prop pitch does feck all in the A4, may as well leave it alone,

Still beats me, but the VVS better look out because after two missions in the Anton, I have smoked 7 Soviet aircraft- and I haven't touched a FW's controls since 3.04 I think. It's like the AI is chained to a post, they just can't catch me

To celebrate my 50 and 51st victories, I am d/ling some of Canon's A4 skins

Prop pitch in this plane seems just like US aircraft prop pitch. Has it been this way all along? I don't recall, maybe I just hadn't used manual pitch in it before. I was expecting 109 type pitch- I usally fly a 109E-4 or G-2 when I'm in a teutonic mood

A-4 thru A-6 are my favorite planes http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I can see why. In an historical planeset, they seem extremely effective

Gunsight isn't an issue. They don't see me coming, so they can't evade

Experiment with the prop pitch as sometimes it is better to use auto and others manual. Yes, a 1942 planeset is the allies worst nightmere, thats why you never see them to often http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

190 props on manual act like constant speed props. Most likely left IRL on auto to save wear and tear but since we all get factory brand new aircraft for each sortie it doesn't really matter. On 109s I usually leave it on auto and on the Me110 if you go manual you can't reach the manual pitch fast enough to lower it without burning out the engine(s).

I can't see them, so they don't need to evade.

I can't deal with the viewpoint in 190, especially in bnz. Praise god that BoB will have 6dof. I anticipate that TiR 4 is going to fly off ( http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif) the shelves once we can look over the snout/bar/dashboard Elvis.

The constant speed pitch mode is only really useful for landing in the FW-190... and even then it doesn't make much difference.

I don't know what the actual use was for the CSP mode, if it existed at all. I still use it for landing... but only because it feels like the right thing to do.

bar isn't an issue to me at all for aiming in the 190...I can take successful snapshots when the target is under the nose in any plane, so the bar is never a hindrance. I can hit the same target that is under the nose, in a P-51

I just have to consider where the target is and where he's going

Which is exactly what I think about everytime someone writes how the A4 is derated. With the current 109-G2 and 190-A4 in that planeset of 1942, it's an ugly, ugly mess for the Allies, even more so than it really was. I guess the Lufties want to ensure that the A4 also beats the 1943 and 1944 planesets?!? lol
