Compilation video I made for you guys featuring Jeremy Clarkson as a backseater in a P-51 at the Reno air races, and also in an F-15E, from 1989(ish). Nice to see the old boy with hair, and throwing up. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

That was awesome, thank you!

He did pretty good in the F-15, only throwing up a couple of times. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

amazing, one reason i am a fan of jeremy is his appreciation of a good piston engined machine!

I MUST do this one day! He makes it fun too - very normal sort of guy in his reactions.

Great Video, When I was about 13 my Dad was friends with Dave Allen who owned Dolphin Aviation at Sarasota (SRQ) Airport. He owned several WWII era planes including an AT-6 and a B-25, He took us up over Englewood, Fla. in the Mitchell and I rode in the Greenhouse. A once in a lifetime ride I will never forget. There were Mustangs around that though I never was able to ride in I got to sit in and there was an A-36 Apache (which had the Dive Brakes wired shut) that I never have found out where it went but I imagine it was restored as it was bright Yellow and Red with an Indian Chief on the nose. Dave Allen eventually joined up with the CAF and I don't know where he is now, But Thanks for that ride I have loved Warbirds ever since.

I have no idea which I would rather fly in... the P-51 or the F-15E.

Both would be a dream come true.

That's great footage. Both of them. In his book "the world according Clarkson" volume 2 he tells that he also was able to drop a laser-guided bomb from the F-15E on the ranges at Kitty Hawk. He never found out where that thing hit the ground because he had lots of trouble holding the cross hairs on target. (pointing the camera on the target to be precise).

His P51 in-cockpit commentary clearly demonstrated how loud the melin is with the canopy closed, even though this was a higher spec. engine than wartime and may partly answer those who argue whether external sounds(gunfire, other aircraft etc) can be heard clearly or even at all.
He was having to shout and that in itself quite literally spoke volumes . . .
