There doesn't seem to be aileron trim modeled for this aircraft in IL2, is this historical or am i just missing something ?

Sorry if this has been asked before.

Hello,

Yes there is a aileron trim on the Spitfire and it is modelled in the game, same as on the Bf-109 but Yes some do not have this like i think the first versions of the I-16.

Sensei.

It depends on which aircraft you are flying.

Most US/British aircraft have it. Most Axis ones do not.

Most Russian ones do not.

irl the torque yaws the plane (rudder axis) so thats why planes have rudder trim but not aliron. in fb u get it rolling the plane instead, so u need constant corrective stick http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

Spitfire IX's have no aileron trim. I think the first version to have such a feature is the Mark 21 but someone can correct me on that.

It does have rudder trim which you can use to counter some of the torque. Not perfect but doable. Spitfires ailerons were trimmed on the ground and that was part of the verification process.

and what i said, i dont know of any ww2 fighter or aircraft that had aliron trim, but not rudder

and aliron is more effective in pf http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif
