Thanks for posting Hanglands http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I've sent the links to a few contacts.

The Lancaster pilot mentioned that there was a 1 in 5 chance of an RAF Bomber crew surviving a tour of 30 missions at a certain point in the war. This would have been in 1944 when the Luftwaffe nightfighters were at their peak.

96 RAF Bombers were lost in March 1944 during the Nurnberg raid.

Hi Hanglands,

Yes...more RAF aircrew were killed in the Nurnberg raid than in the Battle of Britain http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/sadeyes.gif

Excellent watch, thankyou!

He makes some absolutely EXCELLENT points about the European community and how it has stopped all these terrible wars.

I really hate people who constantly criticise the EEC etc and say its a bad thing, as they do not realise how bad it could be. Only 60 years ago we were constantly fighting and killing each other!

People have got to used to the peace in Europe that they cannot imagine a war between Germany, France etc.

I totally agree with his points as they echo my own.

For all the ****ging off Europe cooperation gets, at least we are no longer killing each other as we were for the last 500 or more years. ANd this was only acheived within the lifetimes of people still around.
