Well, considering it was never actually in operational service . . .

One of the great things about the old "Aces of the Pacific" game (the game that "Pacific Fighters" should have been) was that the 1946 Addon pack had this plane plus some other US and Japanese prototypes and never-weres to play, and man it was a fun plane to take on B-29 formations with. Good luck getting it for this game though...

Ahhh yes, I remember Aces of the Pacific and the add-on pack for 1946. It was really cool being able to fly those experimental fighters

Remember this sweet bird in the AOTP 1946 add-on?

AOTP's shinden was the inspiration for my handle that I've kept for all these years...

nowadays though, I would love to see the operational pacific planes before going to 'what if' territory, although as far as this product is concerned, it doesn't matter.

For those who are just itching for some stick time with those, download Aces of the Pacific and the 1946 addon from Home of the Underdogs...it's FREE public domain software.

Then again you'll need an older machine (486 or so) to run it. This site actually has a ton of old flight simulators on it - it's like taking a walk down memory lane.

Neither was the Me-109Z, but it's in IL2.

And how many servers have the Bf109Z in their planelist?

It'll get banned just like the Me163B, Me262, He162, Go229, I185, MiG3U. Any work would be better spent in more bombers (Do17/127, Ju188, A/B26, B17, B24) or 2 engine jobs (Me210/410, early P38s)

WOW...the F7F Tigercat was my favorite, too! It was the most awesome plane to fly, it had weapons galore, it was super manoeuvrable, and it was fast as lightning...Man, I really miss that game...

Sure is a shame we can't run some of these older games with today's hardware and OS's.

OK, I still have my AOTP original disks... I have been playing this silliness since years before that on 8088 IBM machines... how come I install AOTP and it says not enough RAM? back then, my (HOTROD) machine had 4 MB of RAM... now I have 1.5 GIG???? what gives? any ideas?????

I think at the time the program was written it would only recognize up to 16Mb of ram - 1.5Gb probably blows it's collective mind and it registers as zero to the program. Either that or the hardware configuration is such that it doesn't know where to look for the memory. Motherboard design has changed drastically since the early 90's.
