Howdy all,

If any of you have been putting off using the Full Mission Builder, then it's time to take a look at it. Why?...

http://www.jumpintojapan.com/fbpf/fmb-tutorial/fmb-08-object-menu.jpg

...Because it's very cool! And easy to use once you know the basics.

I've prepared a step-by-step guide to setting up a very basic mission, just enough to get over the initial hurdles.

http://www.jumpintojapan.com/fmb-guide.html

If you have any comments, suggestions or whatever, give me a bell here or at the address on the site.

There are a lot of screenshots on the page, so if it takes too long to load, can you let me know?

Awww, Man!!!

A serious bump here.

Bearcat99, can this be included in the sticky with the links. Mate. I bookmarked this, and a great-big thank you Good Guy!!!

You should, at the very least, set up a flight over South Japan. Evening at about 1700 hrs, weather good, with high clouds . . .Absolutely beautiful terrain. I flew that map for an hour and a half, just sightseeing, and never got bored once.

Good stuff. I went to start a big campaign I have in my head and took one look at the mission builder and thought Hmmmm trickier than I thought.

Thats what I thought too, sithgod. But, it's not too bad.
Print out the instructions, and load up a SIMPLE single player game in the mission builder. I like the 1st Finnish Brewster mission as it's easy to follow and you get a good idea of what is going on. And, since I know that mission works, it helps to visualise what the tutorial is trying to explain. (Or pick your favorite mission as YOU are already familiar with it and the waypoints will make sence as you follow along.

I love to fly a mission I built my self. It's as good as fresh coffee in the morning.

regards,
Robert

FMB is GREAT!!! The only thing it is missing is triggers..... between the FMB and the UQMG this sim is wide open.

No! All our secrets are now out.

Don't listen to him mates. It's really too hard for you to try.

As you use the FMB more and more you can get "Quick Mission Tuner" to manage and tune your created missions. This is what QMT was made for.

The FMB has always been one of those things
that just made somthing on the inside of my
head hurt.
So I stopped doing that.
At last I have somthing that I can start with.
I have booked marked this and I printed it all.
In answer to your question....
Yes I would like to see more.

Thanks for doing it.

Wonder why it hasn't been implemented in IL2 after all this time? Maybe Oleg doesn't have time to play OFP and see how it could be done http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif Never mind, IL2 is still the business. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

Hi there,

Well, there was apparently a need for it - 350 unique visitors in the past two days. Cool.

Again, thanks for your appreciation, and please let me know how it can be improved. I am listening.

If the tutorial succeeded in getting you started with the Full Mission Builder, let us know. What's your *happy story*?!

We need some warm-fuzzies around here. It's almost Christmas!

Great work The-Good-Guy.

I have been struggling with Mission Building for a couple of weeks with varying degree of success. Your tutorial helps fill in a lot of missing gaps for me such as setting waypoints.

May I suggest that you do a couple of more examples involving several aircraft on each side and maybe some bombers with a target. Something involving carriers would be great too.

Again, congratulations on an excellent tutorial.

Glad it helped. I've made some changes to make it a little more useful, including how to find the FB/PF program folder. lol.

I've spent enough time on this little project for now. Other things beckon. I might add to it in the near future, though. Maybe in a couple of weeks.
