Wooden buttstock and short muzzleflash suppressor http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

The mg3 has plastic/rubber buttstock and a 5 centimeter longer suppressor.

There are some other things but you cant see them very well on that pic.

But the combination of that buttstock and suppressor is already enough to give its identity away http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Judging by its condition, its likely that it is a replica. All weapons they have on those pics are either model or very expensive softair guns. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Aha....Thanks!

I've seen an Airsoft replica and surely I would have bought one only if it could reproduce the s(rrrrrrrr)ound. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Here is a nice video showing the tripod with periscope for the mg-3 in action.

Its almost identical to the mg-42 tripod. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Mg-3 with tripod (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1ZlUsqMz7o)

Looks like the basic training.

Cleaning equipment nicely lined up in a orderly fashion and the instructor in your neck.. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

At least they get to fire the baby.
During my compulsory service back in 1987 we had two MG-42's in a platoon and the poor guys never got the chance to fire them.
They only carried the beasts around and when it came to firing on a tripod.....the lieutenant was there. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

But the effect....oh boy, I remember it all to well.
It was a combined suppresion fire on a trench some 200 meters away.
I was plinking the trench with my sniper when all hell broke loose on my left and through my scope I could see the parapet being literally ripped apart. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/touche.gif
