All-

The review contains an error in the comments on the field of view. I apologise for this and have ammended the review so hopefully Euro_Snoopy can get the corrected version up soon.

The mistake was a genuine error, I thought that I noticed an increased FOV (height) when using this device, however the tracks I used to test it on were very familiar to myself and I must have instinctivly looked slightly up to where I knew there would be the enemys. Further testing has shown that there is no increase in camera angle in the game.

Once more I apologise.

Nice review. I was thinking of getting a TracIR for Christmas, kinda like a gift to myself (I don't have one). You convinced me to go for the latest http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

@ Estocade85

Im glad you like the review, I really like this product- I hope you enjoy it when it comes. If you dont have one then the extra cost over the TIR3 +VE is worth it in my opinion.

Note that IL2FB does not support the 6DOF.

6DOF means that you zoom in as you move forward and can lean to the side to see round struts etc but the Vector expansion really smooths out the game and the newer version has improved tracking .

BOB will support 6DOF and so do many other sims so it is a worthwhile investment.

Tir4 = crud. Using simple math:

33 degrees and 120 samples = 3.636363 samples per degree.

46 degrees and 120 samples = 2.608 samples per degree.

Smoothness? I think not. Thats 1/3 fewer samples. A 25% increase in software speed is not going to make up for the difference.

No offense to you, but if NP wants to send me a freebie I'll give it a postive review too.

No problem BaldieJr

Everyone is entitled to their opinion

I only write what I see and hope it helps others.

I purchased the TIR3 myself from edimensional - in other reviews I have highlighted the fact that I hadnt purchased the product. Like you I am wary of professional reviewers who dont have to spend their own cash. I try very hard to be objective in these matters knowing others may read and spend their $$.
