Ok, I installed IL-2 1946 after removing all the other merged games, that will now be donated to my nephew to get hooked on http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I have to ask, has anyone tried to install the BOE campaign add-on on top of IL-2 1946? It was working fine before 1946 and I wanted to see if anyone had run into trouble after installing it.

Thanks

I have it installed in my IL-2 46, there no problems with it so far. Everything works really well.

I would also suggest that you get the EnjoyrPatch v.1.7., it ads many more campaigns and its totally free.

Also you will need the latest Dgen v.4.0.6.12:

Hope this helps.

I installed it over 1946 and it looked fine, then I tried to install the offical BOE RAF AEP add-on patch and it wouldn't let me (saying I did not have AEP installed).

Could you give me a detailed explaination of how you went about it?

If you have BOE installed but are not having any luck with the BOE_AEP update, follow the link to the "DGen 4043 + BOE 4.0" patch in this thread: http://www.simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&...9&page=1#Post2163129 (http://www.simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=2163129&page=1#Post2163129)

Now please bear with me as I am stoopid.

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/compsmash.gif

1) Install IL-2 1946
2) Install BOE
3) Install this>>

DGen4043_BoE4.0_update_combined.zip

Correct?

FE_pilot

If you install the Enjoyr Patch, you have no need to install DGen4043_BoE4.0_update_combined.zip, because everything in that zip file already comes in the Enjoyr Patch, plus many more campaigns including the Battle over Europe RAF campaigns.

So if i were you i would just install the Enjoyr Patch and Dgen v.4.0.6.12, once this is done you are all set.

I'm not so sure about that. I extracted Enjoyr's 1.7 "No addons" patch A (which is supposedly also for if you have BOE) to a separate folder to look at its contents, and I didn't see the BOE_AEP files. The files for "Jumo's BOE Western Front add-on" are in there however, and this may be causing some confusion overall. It was just a cursory look on my part so I could be wrong.

There are several Enjoyr patch series to cover updates for various commercial add-on combinations, so maybe he covered AEP in one of those A+B combos.

My personal approach was to put my DGen 4043+BOE-4.0 patch content first (as outlined in my SimHQ link) and then the Enjoyr patch ... my logic was that if the Enjoyr patch has the official BOE DGen updates then it would just overwrite my pack's content anyhow. I know for a fact that the Enjoyr patch I tested (the one for "no add-ons") doesn't include BOE's pilot portraits. Also, you'll have to still manually unpack the Italian speechpack and various files after you install the Enjoyr patch, and download additional Italian portraits. See my SimHQ post for more information.

Finally, if you use the Enjoyr patch be sure to download the required version of DGen.exe. Links to that are also in my SimHQ post.

It turns out that the Enjoyr patch for "OstFront + BOE" has most or all of the files I listed above. Use this link for the download:
http://www.nahraj.cz/down/1191277459/EnjoyrPatch_forBoE+Ostfront_v1.7.zip.html
or
http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads&file=details&id=1971

It comes with Patch A and Patch B installers in the pack. The A part is the free campaigns and the B part is the files I listed above plus more. You'll still need the Patch A skins pack patch and the most recent version of DGen.exe.

Wow guys, this community is still the best. I haven't been around in a while and it's nice to see everyone is still as helpful as ever.

All this help is appreaciated!

(One quick note, the BOE_AEP patch will not install over IL-2 1946, it looks for the AEP installation).

Enjoyr, the NWE campaigns were free campaigns by Ian Boys that are set on his fictional North West Europe map. Players don't need to have OstFront for those. I wondered why you didn't include them in the 'no addons pack.'

Sorry for dusting off this old thread, but it did seem like the most appropriate place to start. I’m just returning to IL-2 after a long absence, and excited about the possibilities. I have the STEAM version of IL-2 1946 along with an unopened Battle Over Europe (BOE) add-on disc.

Is there someone that might be able to provide me guidance on how to successfully install the BOE edition so that it is compatible with STEAM? For example, I’m still unclear if I need to install BOE patches and how does/doesn’t the Enjoyr Patch factor into the installation, etc.?

Thanks for any support that you might be able to provide.
