Those guys flying those....things...are professionals. If you or I (I'm assuming you arent a pro http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif) tried doing that they would be destroyed in about 1 minute. Despite that, cool as hell!

I've flown R/C planes for a number of years now.
I'd never of thought of flying a BOAT.
Nice find Locust.

That is great. I have had R/C Planes and boats but who would have thought of combining the 2.

Saw it a couple of weeks ago...

A very innovative use of lifting body technology, and a good dose of HP, for it's size of course...

Well. It looks fake. The way those things fly looks like they`re on strings and how is it that these guys have such incredible control? Not once do they crash them, they come near the ground and just... float down and off again?! It`s hard enough just running a radio-controlled land based toy car let alone one that floats and flies....

I dunno. I`ll believe it when i see it for real. It`s just my suspicious nature....

Ah yes, Alan Szabo Jr. is undoubtedly one of nthe top R/C Heli pilots. He has been known to land his heli's on the rotors, inverted. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif
Everytime I watch that video, I have to pick my jaw off the floor! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

@Seafire: What those planes/boats do is well within the capabilites of R/C planes. With the proper design, anything can fly, as evidenced by the kits for R/C lawnmowers, M-1 tanks, witches, even pizzas! lol http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

Now, there has been new models designed to use a new reversible pitch propellor assembly for electric brushless motors. The things planes can do when equipped with those is amazing! Have you ever seen an airplane actually fly backwards? These can! If I find the link to a video, I'll post it. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

ok, I`ve watched Jaws2002 helo clip. At first I thought, `yea, seen it before`, but then became quite impressed with what he did with the thing. He has incredible control. Not only that, but I didn`t think you could do such gravity defying stunts like that without NASA type equipment. Looking at that clip has made me think that those weird boats could be real afterall.

Boy, I must be getting old and technologies getting ahead of me!

Just think what the next generation of pilotless military aircraft will be able to do.

RC is nice, but try the real thing on for size. We just finished with Thunder on the Ohio, the annaul Unlimited Hydroplane race. Most are powered by turboshaft helo engines, but last year's winner has an Allison. It can bea heard over the turbines from a long distance.http://msnbc.msn.com/id/8381265/
Of course, there was also these guys:

for those who are more interested in air over water.

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif Not lookin forward to that. It'll be a sad day when the joys of flying are handed over to robots.
