Found this interesting website. Amazing how they restored a heavily damaged and rusted FW-190F-8! Simply amazing!

Excellent written documentary and pictures of the restoration. Plus info on the two last pilots who flew the "Weisse Eins".

Enjoy the pics and documentary. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Nice find thanks. Interesting stuff, and very hard work on restoration of (original rare) ww2 warbirds.

Also there are the rewards included in site and here is one of the pictures:

So whoever can help about this may turn out to be richer after browsing that page http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif.

No problem at all buddy! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I don't think I'll be getting rich soon. There's no way I can find original pictures of this FW-190. My grandma corresponded with a Luftwaffe pilot during World War II, but this dude flew a Fieseler Storch! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

^One of the planes I wish they'd make flyable for the next IL-2!^ http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Interesting stuff, about the FW and the Lancaster:

"Be that as it may, PD198 was attacked no less that 15 times and suffered severe damage. With the hydraulics out and the trim tab controls shot out, it took two men to pull it out of the final dive that had turned the German fighters away. The crew eventually managed to nurse their strciken bomber back across the unforgivning North Sea to make an excellent wheels-down landing at their base. PD198 itself never flew an operational mission again, but served with 103. and 57 Sqds. before being finally borken up in 1947."

Claus Colling and his FW190A-8/N flew for the first time with the undercarriage retracted.

Here the Link to the movies and pics of that flight.
