Hi all,

I had some very nice feedbacks in the past so I'll try again to look for the community help.

I'm going to move to Germany in a month, in a small town called Gütersloh in Nordrhein-Westfalia.

I will start working there and I have to look for renting a flat/house etc.

Do any of you german friends can point me to websites where I can fing ads for that area? Or if you have any house you are willing to rent.. I'll just need a DSL connection to keep on flying http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

I live in NRW, Germany, but not really close to Gütersloh.

I found this link for apartments, etc.

http://immobilien.immonet.de/immobilien/13810/Guetersloh.html

Also helpfull:
http://www2.guetersloh.de/index.cfm

This is the main page of the city. You'll find many usefull links and a citymap there.

LOL Small town.......... It happens to have one of the Biggest EX RAF Airfields in Germany on its outskirts......... Herman Goering was its one time Station Commander no less.......... Nice town BTW, enjoyed my times there, But think the British Army took over Gut so the quality went down somewhat.....
They also if i remember correctly build Miele Washing Machines in Gutersloh.one of our winch weights ( Air LoadMasters ) took his motor out there on a charter flight and exchanged it at the factory shop. The flights to Gutersloh the new motor and the flights home with duty frees thrown in was less than Miele UK wanted for the motor

OK now for the good news being so close to the barracks if you get your TV converted,(allowed it to pick up wider frequencies i think) used to be about 25 but all the ones sold in the NAAFI were already done, you should be able to pick up BFBS the British forces TV channels which are in English and include a lot of the UK stuff..http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif as well as radio 1 etc see

Reason the moved the Army in is its an easy job to knock up a few huts for some squaddies, but an Airfield its a totally different kettle of fish.so you move the Squaddies out of their bases and put em on recently vacated Airfields therefore maintaining the presence of Airbases if they are ever needed, it also allows you to move the self loading cargo simpler if they come with their own runway
