i am sure most of you here have seen it on the AC website: bunch of guys around the table in a dark room.
the clothes they wear are not templar though -- hospitaller more like.
any thoughts?

We do all know that, historically, there were only ever twele Templars right?

actually, they wear the hosptaller regalia.
the templar cross is red on white. hospitaller is white and black. i confirmed this with WIKI -- good articles on the 3 orders in the game: templars, hosptallers and teutonics

The red was symbolic of the blood they were willing to sacrifice in service to God, and the white was the purity of their souls because all twelve of them were abstinate and ordained priests

knighthood and priesthood are oxymoronic -- but somehow catholics made it work. although from what i've seen the military function won out over the saintly one.

That really depends on which version of the history you believe. Were the Templars really demon worshipers?

common sense would say no, since it was a king that disbanded them under torture and inquisition so he could get their treasure for himself, the ******* -- "the Most Christian" King Philip IV (the Fair) of France it was. christian my... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif
he'd have used any reason to kill them.

Very few of them ever admitted to it even after the horrendous things he did to them. In fact there's no proof that any of them did, only that some of the people worked with or for them implicated after certain...suggestive transactions

the last grand master recanted his confession under torture before they burned him alive. in one thing i agree with vidic: the society is still just as barbaric, just as stupid as it was during crusades

We're a naturally destructive species. I mean, you and I derive pleasure from wholesale slaughter on video-games so we can't really judge too harshly
