I only play against AI opponents. only dial up out here.

I've updated the original CD from V3.0 to V3.04 and installed a new RTS.dll file.

I can not seem to select or padlock an enemy, only get a chase view using Ctrl+F2 and nothing using F4.

Did I misread the instructions, or am I misunderstanding what Padlock means in PF?

Any ideas?

just double check your 'difficulty' settings to make sure you have 'padlock' ON...also - look at your 'controls' settings to make sure you have not altered or removed the key command inadvertently...try selecting 'default' settings in the controls screen and see if that does the trick.

thanks heywooooood.

zigged when should have zagged. got the settings properly done and reset my joystick for the padlock. somehow when doing the settings, i deleted padlock from keyboard and joystick.

now, if only PF had a "rear" view as do M$ CFS 1,2,&3 and THC Battle of Britain, among others.

in "No Cockipt" view it sure would be nice to see if your bombs/rockets actually hit the target behind you without having to go around and fly toward it again (especially through agressive flack!).

perhaps in the long awaited 3.05 or 4.0 M versions, they will have numpad-2 and full back on hatswitch be a "Rear" view instead of "Down" view.

maybe, do you or others have a hack to do this?

thanks again

hey there heywooood:

found a solution to my other problem of not being able to get a direct "rear" view. go to and find my other post called "Select and Padlock...." and scroll down to my reply to junkoiturita and latico.

you and others may find this setting helpful.

thanks for the response,
