AEP On8Islands map.Flying home from strafing a Jap airfield, i thought i'd have a go at a few ships. I was down around 50 meters when i thought i saw some tiny flickering objects with what appeared as corresponding shadows on the water? Were these birds? I recall with Janes old WW2 sim that in the Bulge missions deer used to come running out of the woods. Was i seeing things or are there details such as this included in AEP? ( i was not on any illicit substances at the time)

Hi there Snow Wolf.

You must have a fascination for Princess Mononoke. It's a good movie, ne.

I've seen that movie several times. Unfortunately, it was the version with Korean subtitles so I didn't have a clue what was going on!

Despite repeated warnings, Jason continued to loiter outside the public lavatories dressed as Pestilence.

@ david_clow

No birds here. What you saw may have been exploding AAA shells.

...I think that would be cool, the ole sea bird in the prop problem! I like what you said about the old Janes game, deer running (because you buzz the forest?)...awesome!

Do you guys like that kinda little stuff or do you just like Oleg and the boys to stick to the planes and only the planes. I really think that stuff makes it more real for me anyway.

yea would be cool the see birds or other animals in the game like in Jane's. If there wew birds i would really want to try that Indiana Jones thing where the birds cause that Bf-108 to crash ehehehehehee

I get similar, but i think it is the remains of my lunch stuck to the screen due to getting bounced on landing http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Ah, so that's why I have replaced my birdbath 6 times in the last week! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif

adding anything to a 3d video game reduces FPS, and I would be opposed to doing that for birds...

Rgrt hos8367. In Janes WWIIF, most of us used to go into the ini file and turn the deer off to increase frps / decrease lag. I think I set my # of deer to 1 'cause I liked to occassionally look out & see one running across a field (especially while I was using the CFS summer terrain).

I'm all for that sort of thing, it really adds to the immersion factor of a sim to see all the little things - birds, animals, smoke from houses and so forth.

For those worried about frame rates, these sort of things can always be added in such a manner that they can be turned on and off in the options settings...

...now you guys are talking my language!!!. If everyone can turn stuff on and off then you can get it right to where ya want it! Do you think Pacific Fighters will have something like this?...(but I don't think deer like salt water?).

...I'd set the deer to fifty...then...frame by frame ..until I go to the ground and blast, just like DeerHunter 1941! (heh, heh).
