i'd say it's a friend but if you feel a desperate need to kill him...doesn't really matter http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

looks almost like an FW, but maybe a Spit, I dunno. Hard to tell.

04-06-2005, 10:39 PM
What's the point of this? Who shoots at 750m?

04-06-2005, 10:44 PM
Allied plane, leave her alone...

That's a messer.

Hey I like these threads

04-07-2005, 12:28 AM
looks like a spit with royal navy markings to me

04-07-2005, 01:44 AM
Looks like one of them thar planes from that err uh movie umm.. Oh yeah, pearl harbor. You know, the ones that can't outrun the jap planes, but can outmaneuver 'em? Yeah.. That one...

04-07-2005, 01:59 AM
Well I need glasses and an 'aircraft recognition course' because I thought it was a stuka. If I ever fly on-line, we're all in danger

04-07-2005, 02:24 AM
I'm not wearing my contacts at the moment, but that plane is gonna go down in flames.

04-07-2005, 02:43 AM
nah thats a friendly, only kill him in case he stole your kill seconds ago

04-07-2005, 03:22 AM
I took so long for the 2.3mb BMP image to download I had been shot down & the offending plane had already RTBhttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

If only he was fly JPEG http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

A P-40 in American markings.
Hold your fire cowboy/cowgirl :-)

04-07-2005, 04:27 AM
assuming the skins are the default ones, if you ook at it, and at the shape of the wings you can definitely see it's a Spit..

04-07-2005, 04:46 AM
Think its a spitfire RN markings?

04-07-2005, 04:49 AM
count me also in for a Spitfire/Seafire with RAAF ore FAA markings

04-07-2005, 04:50 AM
from what i can see...Spit 8 w/RN markings

But slightly looks like a Stuka... but thats just me. The wings looks pointy and gull shaped, plus i can see the square style elevators. Just don't take any notice of me tho' http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

04-07-2005, 04:59 AM
Its a freind. Spitfire VIII with US markings I think.

hmmm looks like a Stuka to me as well....I woulda been shredding it in my Jug in about .5 seconds from then

I really do think its a stuka, and most ppl with guesses of spit will be surprised

04-07-2005, 06:54 AM
It's a spitfire, possibly me.

I say kill it! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif

04-07-2005, 07:01 AM
I'm glad I'm not on dialup,I'll let you know tomorrow after it finishes downloading. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

Since you have the advantage, you have the luxury to get closer and better ID.

In head ons, I shot regardless of knowing. In that scenario, you don't have the luxury of time or advantage. Sure it could be a friendly folks should not fly head on with anybody unless it's an enemy.

04-07-2005, 07:40 AM
Don't shoot.

04-07-2005, 07:47 AM
Hold your fire.. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

04-07-2005, 08:09 AM
It is stupid to shoot if you are not sure.

And to be sure, you must get closer first then 750 m. Then you have more chance to hit also.

04-07-2005, 10:15 AM
Looks like a spit to me. At 500+ mph in my boom..i've got my finger on the trigger about to pull. By the time I reach convergence I've already made my mind up to shoot or not.

04-07-2005, 11:47 AM
Either Stuka or Spit/Seafire.

If correct (historical -- geez thats why they exist anyway http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif) markings are applied, then Sea/Spit.
Anyway, judging by tail and markings (looks like blue/white roundel color) it's friend http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.

So how long til we get official confirmation? It looks like a P40 to me.. I don't see any distinct similarities between it and a spitfire...

04-07-2005, 02:03 PM
ANSWER: Don't SHOOT it's a SPITFIRE. And it has RAF markings.

Vote Tally at this time is:

58 votes counted. 69% Friend : 31% FOe

Aww man, I could have sworn it was a p40..

Oh well, atleast I got the friendly part right =)

04-07-2005, 07:40 PM
Shoot first, and let god sort them out.

What model Spit? Not the Vb or IX. I could tell because I made sure you could see the wing shape at the lowest LOD.

04-07-2005, 08:10 PM
Looks like a Spit, but we also have a viewing advantage now because its not moving.
