Hi all,

I have some very exciting news to share with you. I just exchanged e-mails with Oleg and he has very kindly said that he will include the option in the conf.ini to clear or not clear the cache when his programmers have time. I know that they wish to investigate the issue further but I'm really boyed by the prospect that they are working on this.

Again a BIG thank you to you all for your support and encouragement.

Please express your thanks to Oleg and his team.

Cheers and regards

Great news ...but do tell me what advantages this will have for those of us who have religiously downloaded all your Il-2FB/Pf Managers so far....??? Just curious....

Thanks chaps,

Hi Jim,

Well, the most obvious benefit is no delay in displaying the graphics. By dispensing with IL2-MAT (which has done fantastic service) and its associated il2fbhook.dll and having just the one program, IL2-MAT Manager do the filecopy then there would be no need to detect the game launching and copy any files.

The ongoing benefits are that because I was getting concerned as to having to put a cap on the numbering of new markings options because the amount of files being copied by IL2-MAT on game launch was becoming excessive I will be free of this concern and can now develop even more options http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Another benefit to new users and to me as well in terms of simplified support and documentation is the requirement to only have one install and one simple setup ie. only MAT Manager and no IL2-MAT & dll install and config etc.

I was holding back on a radical re-design of the user interface because it would be a lot of work for no return if the filecopy limit on game launch was reaching saturation point. I can now give this more thought in the new year.

So you see the benefits are multi-fold.
