It will work, but you won't be able to play it well.

Should work.

If you can, get a copy of the original Il-2 because, in some ways it's better, you will be able to buy it for peanuts so you can try it out and it will run fine on that card. if you really like it then you can shell out for Il-2 Forgotten Battles + Aces Expansion pack...and you should be able to run those OK, too.

If you do get PF, which is only really worth the money if you have FB+AEP, you might be disappointed when the new patch comes out in October...because supposedly you need more processing grunt to run it and that card may just not be enough.

Good luck

Norris

Barely, but see Luckyboy's Guide For Complete Users to get the most out of your PC and for good logic on how to proceed with upgrades.

I started with a GF4 MX 420 and 256MB ram. With dumbed down Excellent settings, I managed, but just barely. And this was with the original IL2 Sturmovik.

I used to run IL2FB+AEP+PF with similar specs, and it ran fine on lower settings.

I'm running a GeForce2 MX400 64mb on a 750 Duron. On medium and experimenting with the RivaTuner. As long as the plane and object count are low it runs ok. Otherwise I have to drop to 1/2 or even 1/4 speed.

You need to buy FB Gold or FB and AEP, then buy PF.

Either an ATI~9200 or a Nvida 5200 video card would about the same expense. At least the 9200 will let you sim with full detail Excellent settings at high 1152x864 resolution with a good 30fps. I know.

i had a geforce mx 400 up until a few months ago... it played fine at lower settings. as long as your RAM , and CPU are more towards "current tech", and size. i had a gig of RAM,and an AMD 2700.. for the most part it was smooth.

not"butter","silky", or "tissue paper with aloe" smooth.....maybe about 1000-1200 grit smooth.

enuff to show your friends off a fine russian simulator, and for them to say "wow!..kick @ss game!"..and for you to say "this is the WORST the graphics are in game...they get BETTER than THIS!"
