I've been playing SH3 v1.4 for a little while now, but never seen any real warships. The only thing I have seen is the Fiji cruiser that always seems to be in Scapa. Where can i find more?

In the vanilla game, try the Mediterranean. I've seen a few task forces out there, in the Western portion of it. They are very few and far in between though...

If all else fails, and you have the patience, wait in the vicinity of Gibraltar strait. They HAVE to pass you if they are in the area. Good luck http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif It took me 2 years (real time) to see a first task force, but others were more fortunate

The game simulates most if not all the major fleet actions that occured. With a bit of research you can find the route and timing the TF took and intercept. If your really good and/or lucky you will see the action occur.

I chased down a reported task force on my last patrol. It consisted of many cargo ships, 1 clemson destroyer, and two flower corvettes. Before I could set up an attack run I was detected. Survived a depth charging with minimal damage, and managed to escape. The most peculiar thing was that the contact report called it a task force, but it seemed more like a convoy.

Did that to me too sometimes. If a first ship in the column is a warship, the convoy is listed as a task force.... Easy way to identify it?

If you get a task force that's doing 21 knots, it's a real one. If it's doing 12 or less knots, it's a convoy.

Also, I've had some glitch that for several missions made all merchant convoy actually adopt the convoy setup, you know, a line of ships and escorts on the sides....
Rather interesting to see 15 ships stretched in one ong line http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
