The best FS2004 addon series ever just got even better. Robert Sanderson released his latest, the venerable ground-pounder Hawker Hurricane Mk.IID, a couple of days ago. Get it from Avsim.

There seems to be a slight mistake in the aircraft.cfg file, however*, but that's easily fixed. Find the entry called wing_area in the [airplane_geometry] section, and change its value from 320.0 to 257.0 and you're set.

Happy flying!

* These things happen, you know. Not my own finding, though; it was reported by some pretty knowledgeable folks over at the Classic British flight sim forums yesterday.

PS. The man is going to upgrade his previous Hurris, too. So expect to see new versions of the marks I, IIA, IIB & IIC in the not-too-distant future as well http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Don't have an image hosting site, sorry http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif There's a thread w/ pics about the beast @ SimHQ somewhere, however...

But it does look gorgeous, pictures or not!

CORRECTION!!!

Please ignore the fix I was talking about above. R. Sanderson has confirmed that the original value is correct, so please undo the fix or re-install the original aircraft.cfg.

My apologies to all.

Best Hurricanes in the flight sim world, msalama---thanks tons. Bought ACTIVE SKY and ordered ULTIMATE TERRAIN: EUROPE so I can black out the continent for FS9 bomber flights (through headwinds, icing, turbulance, and storms, of course!). By the way, Plane Design's Lancaster set is the ***** Michelin Guide Lancaster series---even has the MkII with Hercules. Working cockpit windows, sun shade, etc. Absolutely fabulous. And, huge thanks for directing our attention to these wonderful models. Cheers, Bomber Harris

He probably wants to see some pics that I can't show him because of having no picture hosting site / account http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

But how about this (http://www.cbfsim.org/cbfsimv5/cbfsbb/viewtopic.php?t=6661)?

Surely I don't. Who but a complete barbarian would want to wreck such a lovely vintage AC in combat, I ask you!?

So right, Akira_sama. Another beauty is Plane Design's Lancaster set. Flight Replicas' Me 262 set is fantastic---the cockpit detail is incredible.

ATTENTION ALL OF YOU WHO DOWNLOADED THE HURRI IID!

There was a problem with the original FM, i.e. accelerated and high AoA stalls were off. The problem is now corrected, however, and a fix is available here (http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=49BCFC0307EFA5E7).

I just tested the fix, and the plane now departs quite violently indeed if mishandled...

S!

PS / EDIT: Read this (http://www.cbfsim.org/cbfsimv5/cbfsbb/viewtopic.php?t=6661&start=15) CBFSim thread to get more info about this fix and the upcoming patch.
