Ive only heard of one new addon for il2 called 46.
It adds new planes and maps. We get some weird planes like the LERCHE. Also ive heard of a rumored 4.08m patch supposed to be released after the 46 addon.

The Manchuria addon hit gold status a while back and was submitted to Ubi. No confirmaed reason has been given for the long delay of the addon's release.

The '46 Addon is listed as still in development by RRG.

In the immenent words of Monty Python:

"AND NOW, THE LARCH."

Often followed by; "And Now, for something completely different:"

(Insert words here: " a man with two bullocks," etc.)

Ah, the ever-so-phallic Lecher. I'm looking forward to that! See the second quote in my sig.

I'd like to take this opportunity to create some spurious rumours.

The reason 'Manchuria' is delayed is that Ubi have decided that the most secure method of copy protection is to have a program constantly running in the background that monitors your every movement and wrecks your Il-2 installation and registry if you try to copy, move, rename, or access in any way, the files installed by Manchuria.

I think they've rather decided that the most effective form of copy protection is not to release it at all. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

Nah, the add ons are so good Ubi can't stop playing them long enough to release it. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

Effective copy protection may be an issue, but they also might be waiting until the holiday shopping season in order to get more interest in the add-on as well as the whole IL2-AEP-PF combined edition.

It'd be nice if they'd release it now, with no publicity, for us who are going to buy it anyway. Then they could re-release it with a load of publicity for Christmas! {insert smilie hitting head with hammer here}

Aha,.... I see. Well after all that I can wait.
There is still so much to do in Il-2 and PF and AEP that will chew up so much for now.

Still I can not wait for SoW to come out, be it next year or early '08.

Thanks for the info guys. Such a help. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

The original release date which was summer wasn`t a good period for sellin games.

This period is not particulary good for sellin games either.Christmas is the best period for sellin games and that is the best bet.

OTOH maybe something funny happened and boonty formatted couple of Ubi computers on the road.

hey guys a little OT but does anyone one know if they plan to release the P-51H in any of the next add-ons?

I'v been readin about it recently and it sounds like it would have been a fantastic fighter and not to mention that it did see service at the end of the war(although it didnt do any fighting)

I would really love to get my virtual hands on one of those http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Pretty sure '46 is Russian+German not British+American and SoM is Japanese

These add-ons are niche products for a niche game in a niche market. They're not stand-alone star products, but expansions for a five-year-old game, and require all previous ones to work.

Selling season is irrelevant for such "specialized" products, which are only relevant for old users of Il-2FB that have been adquiring the whole long line till now.

XMas can only hurt sellings, when they meet the competence of new, much publicited products, and will be totally obscured by the probable avalanche of UBI's new star products.

So, I don't think season is the reason to hold them. It's that Boonty affair and its legal-economical implications, be sure.

Of course Dux is right....anybody could see this is not a Christmas release headline product.....a download of a niche market add on for a flight sim.Not likely to make its way into too many Christmas stockings....

This endless waiting is so annoying (was it even this long for PF?)I only wish I had the will power not to buy the darn thing when its finally released !That would show them!!!!Alas I still eagerly check this site daily for its release with anticipation on overdrive every Friday for the last 2/3 months....I dare say I'll have it on my HD within an hour of release kust like the Pe2 one....AND I'll probably buy the cd too....(to support Oleg -like with the Complete Ed DVD-and have a backup copy)
And what do we loyal fans get -abuse from the mods/fanboys about 'whining'....
To UBI I say :Publish or Be Damned!
Next whine due next Friday!

easy whitechocolate I wasn't talking to you specifically....just a general remark.

the best way to know what the 46 addon is all about is to have it out so we can see...see?

But what if the plan is to publish this as a CD or DVD that includes Pe-2 (hopefully!), Sturmoviks over Manchuria and 46' all-in-one? That would explain the delay by UbiSoft to release SoM and possibly also why the "Complete Edition" DVD was not released to North America. The 46' addon is still in development from what I understand.

Here's another angle: As Microsoft gets ready to release FSX in time for the holidays, what comparable product does UbiSoft have to offer or niche? "Storm of War" isn't going to be on the shelves.
