And sadly, it goes largely unnoticed by the public at large, as usual.

It seems that, as a country, we've all forgotten how close we came to not being a country.

anyway,
S!

The BBMF just flew straight over my house too. From the direction they came I would guess they were returning from Wittering, their website says they had an appointment there today. But if youre in the Waddington, Cranwell, Conningsby, Halton, or Benson neck of the woods - Keep your eyes and ears open.

Sweeping Squadrons filled the summer sky
White trails across the brilliant blue
We met them head on - five miles high
They were many, we were few
Went the day well?

We died and never knew
But well or ill - freedom - we died for you
And left the vivid air signed with our honour

And now - do you remember us
They called The Few?
We need to know that we are not alone
That here and now our sacrifice is known

And we are not forgotten

We here in America can feel your pain as well, God forbid you should ask someone a historical question especially about ww2.

Anyhow cheers to the Brits.

For I dipt into the future, far as human eye could see,
Saw the vision of the world, and all the wonder that would be. ....
Heard the heavens fill with shouting, and there rain'd a ghastly dew
From nations' airy navies grappling in the central blue.

That photograph evokes much emotion...It is very good to see that some people still take the time to thank them. I wish all people would...

Thanks to everyone, from all the nations involved, that sacrificed their own lives, and the hopes and dreams of their loved ones, in the fight for freedom.
