Looks like "Dark Blue World". Fabulous film. One of the best about the Battle of Britain IMO.

Pretty decent movie, Battle of Britain, loved the stiff upper lip on some of the actors

That's right out of "The Battle of Britain" 60ies movie and indeed a classic. Mind you, the Buchons were the only 109s useable for this movie.

Oh thats just because they had to feature porked 109 eitherwise the scenes would differ a bit.

However the movie still looks great,DBW matching it quite nicley though not enough.

But where was Tom Cruise??????????? you cant see his ever so gorgeous and heroic face under a flying mask...

oh and Bearcat you are right about the 109s ,the ones used in the film where Spanish.

I'm not entirely convinced that was actual SOW footage....

Nonetheless, what excellent footage. I haven't seen that flick since I was about 12. It must have been fantastic to work on it - those massed formations, low alt dogfights. Brilliant. It was interesting to see the footage of the He111 pilots struggling to stay above the waves. I know they were the aggressor but it's important to remember they were real, scared men, too.

I never said it was SOW http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif
anyway thats probably the closest thing you can get, to get the idea of how it would have looked over UK in 1940

'Good afternnon , My arse!, You bosh baaarstard, get yer 'ands up, come on!'

Still one of the best WW2 air movies, even 35 years on.

Its amazing to see He111's/Spits/Hurris all duking it out, and the 109s even if they are Buchons.

An amazing feat of filmaking http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Great film! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

I love the epic battle towards the end, where the actors bow out and these classic warbirds take centre stage. Great score too. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

No no...thats "The Battle of Britain". Produced in the late 60s. Essentially THE movie about the battle. Dark Blue World actually borrows retouched footage from when Battle of Britain was originally shot.

Everyone whos plotting to buy Storm of War: Battle of Britain should consider this movie to be on their must see list. Its out on DVD and its a really fantastic movie. Given what they had on hand to try and do the movie its basically bang on accurate. It obviously glosses over some parts because its a movie and there isn't time...but it really captures the whole event in its entirety.

Hello fellas' this is from BOB as you already know http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif Great movie IMO.

For a more modern and dramatic movie you should watch Dark Blue World. Most of the movie is spoken in Czech and it's made on a low budget. However, the CGI isn't all that bad, and the dogfights are great. Some humor involved in the movie. Many clips in the movie are taken from the 1969 Battle Of Britian movie http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Here's a preview, enjoy http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
