Anyone else got suicidal Templars (or whatever they are we are supposed to kill a load of.

I have so far killed about 6 but 2 of those were suicides. I was jumping from building to building when i got the note they had died!! (Both at separate times) Im not complaining but it just suprised me, i guess it must be tough climbing round on roofs in a tin can.

On a side note the acheivements some are on about, like killing 20 beggers etc. Are these unlocked later on or are there secret challenges? If there are secret ones please dont tell me what they are!! :P

i've killed 21 of them and 3 were suicides, 2 of which i didn't even see, they must have started chasing me without me noticing and fallen to their deaths lol.

Yeah of the Templars I was fighting just jumped off the building don't know why though.

Oh and I'm not sure if you have to kill 20 beggars but I know that you have to grab and throw 25 of them to get Harraser of the Poor.

most of the secret achievements are secret because they contain spoilers.. .be careufl if you go snooping about & havent beaten the game yet

Lol I've only killed four:
-2 in combat
-1 (also in combat) thrown off a roof
-1 stealth assassinated (had a chance to peek around the corner)

Ok thanks, i will be carefull in these forums from now on. I want to find the achievements out for myself if they are hidden.

Thanks again! Cool to hear others are having suicidal templars. I guess they dont have a head for heights.

When you kill all the templars and start a new game they are back right i hope so, And same about the flags are the back when you start fresh.

I think the issue with the templars is a path finding one, where they follow you to drop down from great heights, however an oversight may have been that they do not seem to have the fall strength to survive the fall.

It's not an active "suicide", it just thought it would survive.

But i've not experienced this yet. The Templars are merciless and determined whenever they chase me!

me neither.. every templar i killed was by my blade. // i mean.. i've fought some on rooftops, but when i runaway.. they just chase me or go back to their position.

but yeah i have seen a regular guard get an arrow in the heart when i was in a fight. i found it funny, then a second later, i get 2 arrows in me.. thats when i said.. "time to scram" haha. /

i love it when they taunt u, thats when i just take the free shot. come to think of it, their taunts to offend me, thats why i stab them first. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

xD

The Templars are incredibly determined.

There is this part in the Kingdom where there is a sort of branching path, one goes high and is blocked by two guards, while the other goes low and goes towards a Templar. both paths lead to the same place, just one goes high and the other low.

I went high, on my horse. I rushed past the two guards and they never even gave serious chase, they simply gave up.
So half way up the high-road there is another guy that faces the edge. I knocked this guy over said edge, sadly this edge was right ontop of where the Templar was located.

So the Templar yells, then I see him running all the way through the lower-road to get to the entrance to the higher road, now it takes about 10 seconds while "stepping on it" on your horse.

On foot, for a guard, it takes a long time... and he had to go all the way to the entrance and then back towards me.

Needless to say, he got near me and was then knocked off the cliff in a matter of seconds... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

This also raises another point...

If I am minding my own business in the kingdom and I am not going as fast as possible, but I am not walking either... I pass pretty far from any guards, yet they seem to be all-knowing...

How can they come to the conclusion that if somebody is riding quickly on their horse that that person is an infidel?! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

My guess: look around. You're the only one on a horse. Scholars don't ride horses. Monks don't ride horses. In fact, guards don't even ride horses.

I'd say you're pretty easy to spot. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

So it is now a sin which makes me an infidel if I ride a horse? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

Okay, forget the horse.

I sprint on foot and they still call me infdel...

My problem is not with the fact that they try to massacre me, but with the fact that they come to the conclusion that I am an infidel. xD

I've killed 48 templars (on memory block 5), but they've never died form anything but my blade. I hate when the clumsy *** guards fall off roofs and die( too many on same ladder etc.) it's automatically your fault.

It wasn't with a templar but I was in Jerusalem and try and grab a guard to throw him off the roof, he counters it and then chucks me off. I land relatively unscathed and then a second later the guard that threw me off jumped down after me but died when he hit the floor http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/1072.gif

MAY CONTAIN SLIGHT SPOILER

on the acre cathedral theres the lower broken tower(its still insanely high up though) theres a templar there. i was just minding my business climbing up and suddenly from off camera i was grabbed! i automatically hit B and countered, spinning the templar round and kicking him straight off the tower. all i heard from below were the faint screams of civillians.

Haha, I love those screams.

One time in Acre I was jumping from roof to roof, trying to be as discrete as possible, and I happened upon a guard. I threw a knife at him, hoping he'd just collapse and die.

Well, long story short, as soon as the knife entered him he started stumbling backward and went right off the roof, next to the cathedral. All I saw was him fall off and then, very faintly....

"Aaaaaagghh!"

There goes my cover. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

lol its great to see the people running round from up high. They all crowd round the prone body first then start legging it around terrified. Its nice to feel safe up high http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
