Except now I am getting better performance in direct X than in Open GL. In Open GL FPS is unplayable at 1600x1200 I used to average 50 fps now less than 30. Getting 60 FPS in direct X.

I got the new drivers installed shortly after I read this. I must say that the game runs smoother than ever now. Thanks for the tiphttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I saw it up today and was jealous-my SW has my rig down in eugene and I won't be able to get there until week after this-damn.

So far so good, very nice performance on perfect, much better then 3.7s

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

So far so good I got a not so small boost in fps,I'am not sure how much however as I bumped up my video settings http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

These drivers are a must have imho.

edit: It looks like triple buffering has been fixed also.

Are you guys getting better FPS in O-GL or DX? I don't mean as a comparison between the two, but when you say you are getting an increase what were you using before?

I use openGL but it has helped directX also.

TIP!!!!use "Driver Cleaner 2" its free and is especially designed for ati drivers and nvidia drivers-after you remove your outdated drivers reboot then use driver cleaner 2 it removes all the hidden files standard uninstall leave behind-reboot then load latest drivers---this WILL eliminate any problems you may have and improve overall performence with out conflicting older files--go for it it WORKS!!!

I saw a performance increase as well. Using OpenGL. I'm not sure what the % increase would be but for example: I used to get bad lag when taking off in crowded campaigns. Now, the takeoff is very smooth.

I got quite a drop in Open GL and Direct X is terrible . Open GL I had an average of 67 prior to the drivers and it dropped to 60 with the new one

From the release notes:-

"Playing the game IL2 Sturmovik: Forgotten Battles in OpenGL mode no longer results in flashing triangles and textures when playing the Black Death Track"
