Are there in the gameplay also fishingboats that the can spot you for enemy attack.

fishingboats will be implemented. I don't think them spotting you will generate any attack from allied warships.

I don't think any fishboats had radios during ww2.

I think they did, wasnt it a fishing boat which spotted the doolittle raid of tokyo (the carrier) and made them launch early?

I may be wrong though...

Yes you right. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif Actually that was belong to Japanase navy. Some crew were navy emproyee.
The ship name is "dai23(No.23) nitto-maru".
90 ton, tuna trawl fisshing boat.

About 80 refit-fisshing boats (like "nitto-maru") were patrolled 1000KM away from Japan
as a patroll boat.

I am Japanese ,so if you cant understand my english. I am sorry. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

ok, but that was on the asian theater of war. I've never read anything about english fishingboats taking part in sub monitoring.

But I might be wrong so correct me if you have other info

more interestung is that german u-boats were hiding from radar detection in groups of fisherboats. it would be great if this would be reflected in the game.

Yea, that was mentioned before the DevTeam said fishing boats would be included. Pretty cool, huh?

No problem, your english is better then mine!! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif I thought that was the case though with the fishing boat. Remembered reading about it.

Its most likely that the english/germans norwegians and everyone else used fishing boats to spy, as many nations do nowadays, even fisherman who were not "in the pay" of the navy would probably report any ships they saw. I mean imagine if you saw an aircraft carrier while searching for cod, would you say "oh never mind, im just a fisherman... Or would you report it asap???

On the rarity of radios, im not sure, i wouldnt have thought they were that rare, it is only the 1940s, and they did have shipping forcasts ect then, so wouldnt a ship have a radio onboard for emergencies (and spying http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-mad.gif)

Yeah may be they didnt have a radio like small
fishing boat.

As far as I know in Japan at that time,
like whale fishing boats were made covoy.
Mother ship with some small fishing boats.
Even if small fishing boats had a radio but there radio output ability would be low.
So I think they had took a time to informed
about what they finding. And take more long time to thease information report to navy HQ. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

But I dont know actual and european area! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

Fishing boats will certainly add a lot to gameplay.
