yes I know there have been a couple of posts like this already but that was a few months ago, I am looking forward to the game but I don't want to pay 60$ (plus the special edition of course) for something that I could beat in a few days.

First of all: This is a rough guess. So it could be totaly different.

Jade said that a mission goes like:
- You get the mission of your master in Assassins HQ (somewhere far away from the cities, so you need to ride there)
- Then you go to the local Assassins office in the city where your target is. He tells you where to get information about your target.
- You get information (by either pickpocketing or doing something else evil :P ) and you return to the Assassins office.
- I'm not sure about here; either you have to go back to the Assassins HQ to get the mission approved (with the feather) or you get it in the local office.
- You go kill your target and escape. Return the feather to your master and the mission is completed (probably you'll get a new weapon or outfit, but I'm not sure afcourse)

There are 9 key targets, so that's 9 times the steps above. And then you have the side missions, but I've no clue how many there are.
I'm not going to say a number, because I have really no idea. But I'm sure this will take longer to complete (with all it's side missions) than a regulair game. And here you can run around and do some crazy stuff, which will entertain you for another few hours I think :P

I'm sure you'll spend a lots of hours just running here and there, and not doing the main quest.
Of course, some player will finish it in a record time, but there stuff in it to keep you busy enough http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Pffft who gets GTA to do the storyline? I just complete the first mission, save then go nuts!

They have said something about having the same kind of freedom as you have in the gta series and that would be awesome. I'm shure you can do stuff after you're done killing the 9 main targets aswell.

if you are going to play the game just to do the missions and get it over with. then dont bother getting it because the other half of the fun is exploring all these other free roaming areas and things you can do outside of missions.

That was one reason I liked TES Morrowind for xbox...I could do one thing, then spend hours and hours getting buff and rich etc. then that made the main quest and guild quests easier. So I hope I can just wander around for a long time before I even decide to even talk to the local office guy

Thanks chikkenstorm I never knew any of that, and yes of course I am going to do side missons I feel theyr'e just as important to the game as the missions are (well not completely but close) thanks for the help.

I have to agree with the OP: I hope this game isn't anywhere near as small as Fable (storyline wise).

Fable was a great game during it's time, really fun etc, but I beat it the first day I got it (~8ish hrs or so). It was ridiculous. I went and returned it the next day.

This game looks promising: nice engine, mechanics, graphics, etc etc etc.

I just hope it doesn't fall prey to a short storyline that could be beat within the first week.

I also hope it poses a challenge, where the difficulty could be adjusted to a harder difficulty, etc, as that always makes it fun.

The replay factor is always a plus. I hope this game is similar to Gears of Wars, where I could play that single player a million times and never get bored of it.

Okay I'm done http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Case and point: hours of gameplay is relative. Some people are alot better at completing missions at breakneck speed than others. It is just a fact of life. With that being said, don't you agree this is an inane question?

No. I just wanted a sort of rough estimate of how many hours of gameplay there could be. Not so much as a specific number of hours. by the way nice vocabulary http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif (I havn't seen someone use inane in a forum in a long time).

I say it would have about seventy-twelve hours!! Or you know, how ever long ud like to play, i got a rachet and clank game. it took me about 1 week to beat, but then i could make it harder, so i did it all over again, plus ull spend the mindless hours on 360 trying to get all the acheivementshttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

in the newest dev diary jade says "...that feels cool and feels like something that we'd be intrested in watching for 40 hours as we play"

so they are expecting the game to last around ~40 hours ?

I do!
I completed GTA III, VC & SA without using any cheats and it was really worth it. I'm not 12 anymore to play it for the chaos.
Oh, and when I was 12 I completed GTA II on missions WITHOUT cheats.
That's the point of the game after all.

wuts inane mean?!?

ya i always spend so much longer on exploring than doing actual missions. and on missions i usually drag stuff out just to do different things. i hate playing at breakneck speed to try to finish something. im praying for a 15-20 hour SP at high speed, than the total play time would be close to 10000000, with all the free roam and stuff!! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Haha, no. Before you'd reach that 10.000.000 hours, the second AC game is already on your pc http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif You'll be playing that game all the time http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

This game is awesome and i cant wait until it comes out but i was wondering if this game could be like oblivion on how there are side missions just to make the game more longer and fun. honestly i wouldnt want to be stuck with just the main story line. i rather go and ask the townspeople if i can assassinate anyone for them or something else like that. but thats just me. plus the makers of this game talk about upgrades. Examples, boots and hand grips. i wonder if we go on side missions to earn money to purchase these items? pick pocket for money? or steal? what do you all think?
