from 4.02 readme:

"Yak-7B, 1942
- M-105 PF engine
- 515 km/h at sea level
- 360 turn time (sustained) at 1,000 m 20 sec
- CoG too close to the nose

Notice: This aircraft was released after many requests from online players on both sides that play historical sets for 1942 Eastern front. It was easy to release even with our complete lack of time."

this was taking the stock Yak7B, and upgrading the engine to make the yak7B1942(Yak7BPF)

please do the same for jets that would likely have undergone engine upgrades

those engines now found in Ta183 262HG 162C/D MiG 9 F/FS, i find hard to imagine, barring supply issues, not finding thier way into "older" types, like Go-229, he162A2 and 262A1/2/U4

thus giving two of each of these types to choose from in planeset list...or expressed in plane loadout options list, for upgraded engines

They are already changed to permanently reliable as long as you play by the book.

Think you can consider them upgraded in reliability, be glad they didn't model random flame outs.

sigh

i meant that they have upgraded power/higher RPM

While you're at it, FW-190A4 with more horsepower, P-51Ds on steroids and newer Tempest would come handy.

This sim has so much potential even without introducing ANY new model at all.
Only new skin and few lines in the code will do.

this can apply to any type with documented increases in basic power, barring ext/cockpit differences...(although A4 solution is old one = use A5 :P )

Daiich -- How fast does Oleg's BMW jet spool up to max throttle -- both in game BMW and RD-20? I'm doing a MiG-9 FM for the SF, and I suppose the engines have slow response. Thanks!

couldnt tell u offhand Lexx.....and i assume you mean "real" spool-up, not the insta max revs exploit http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

u dont have 46 installed to check it?

amazing to think the BMW003 spawned many post war jets, including the world-beating ATAR series, many still in wide use today!

Tempest 11+? No new model needed http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif

yup

same as applied to the yak...they can concievably, with very little effort, off extra versions of many types that had engine upgrades

perhaps even in some cases they can de-rate them as well, it should work both ways

maybe then we could also get a WF 190A4 at 1.42Ata (not that theres anythign wrong with using the A5 as a stand-in of course)

in the case of the tempest, though, having a +11 means they would have to fix the PP thing that ive heard makes our +9 like a +11

What PP thing? The same that works for the 190s?

Yea, in-game thrust. Does the cockpit OFF view offer thrust data? In the SF, I can control the rate of throttle change independent of game controller change, forcing a very slow response. I guess its instant in FB, as you can flame out moving the throttle too fast. In the SF, there is no adverse effect, so I force the issue.

No, I don't have the 46.

@Kira...yes...check the hawker haven at cwos for some detail on tempest PP

@Lexx...ok, its midnight here now, im off to sleep, but PM me tonorrow, i will do some quickie tests and email u ntracks

you will see the max accel for RPM on the gauges

just MiG 9 u want?...ill do both the I 300 and 9 "FS"...just to make sure the yare the same

the RD 20s were direct copy of BMW003, but better materials.....a good deal of the early production MiG 9s actually used captured BMW003s, as RD20s were not available in quantity for some time

i can tell you now, that the spool up rate is variable, slows down as it maxes out

LEXX_Luthor

Ah, okay. Slows down as it maxes out. If I recall Oleg's Me-262, you could jam the throttle above maybe 60% but below that you catch fire.

Ye, the Sovs seemed to make a reliable useful engine out of the BMW which shows it was a good design. But, I think all the early turbojets have slow response, but Oleg's from his Me-262 is the only early jet I've played with in The Sims.

I need FB installed to play ntracks?

ummmmm yea, i think so, lol

ur best to bite the bullet and get 46 Lexx...(or...y'know...procure it from another sourcehttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif )

ok..maybe i can get Kuna to take my tracks and youtube them or something, he knows how to do that **** i think

NO ..!!... its not that important. Seriously, just forget the utube. Its actually more fun just rapping around these things with other people.
