Hi,

There's a chart floating around these parts showing the official pattern for B-17 bomber formations.

Anyone know where it is?

Thx!

The USAAF in the ETO used several different formations. What date are you looking for?

Waldo's formation looks almost the same as the 'tucked in' formation introduced in April 1943. The difference is the low squadron which has the same formation orientation as the 2 upper squadrons.

This is the formation used from Jan 1944,

Two more 'official' formations,

Wow! Nice repsonse: Berg, Waldo, luftluuver: Many thanks. It's exactly what I was after. Now to redo my little movie. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

PS It's for late war. A slightly decimated formation:

Actually, I just thought: I'm not much of a history buff when it comes to specific units, so I'd like to ask for some advice. Namely, if you were going to do a movie involving B17's and Me262's, what group/squadron would be a good choice (thinking history and skin availablility too), and where could I find some nice skins?

Actually it's kind of showcase for the Me262, so I was planning on including sections with:

the 1a

the 2a

the 1a/U4
[/list]

One section with Liberators would add a bit of variety too. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/heart.gif

Help much appreciated! Make my day. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
